Blacklight: Tango Down shoots up XBL

Xbox Live Update: Ignition's $15 shooter hits Xbox Live Arcade next to Monkey Island Special Edition 2: LeChuck's Revenge and Ski-Doo Challenge; Fight Night Round 4 added to Games on Demand.

Earlier this week, Microsoft priced and dated its Summer of Arcade lineup and further specified that the event will kick off July 21 with Limbo. Those seeking new digital content right now, however, can enjoy three new XBLA titles and a Games on Demand release this week in the storefront.

Of the three XBLA titles to arrive this week, Ignition Entertainment's shooter Blacklight: Tango Down is available for 1,200 Microsoft points ($15). The title features seven game modes, 12 maps, and online multiplayer support for up to 16 players. Additionally, the game has four Black Ops-style missions for players to compete in either by themselves or cooperatively.

Also hitting XBLA this week is Monkey Island 2 Special Edition: LeChuck's Revenge (800 MS points, or $10). This swashbuckling tale of Guybrush Threepwood, the bumbling pirate, pits the seafarer against the evil zombie buccaneer LeChuck. The title originally launched in 1991, and the special edition has been updated with enhanced visuals, an in-game hint system, and an updated musical score.

The third XBLA title arriving this week is Ski-Doo Challenge (1,600 MS points, or $20). The snow-cross racing title from Valcon Games features officially licensed Ski-Doo snowmobiles and is a sequel to Ski-Doo Snow-Cross. Wintertime racing aficionados can expect more races and sleds in Challenge than its predecessor.

Arriving on the Games on Demand hub this week is just one title: EA Sports' Fight Night Round 4 (2,400 MS points, or $29.99). Available in all regions except Asia, the well-received boxing title was originally released in 2009 and features legendary fighters Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson.

The above listing is Microsoft's current download schedule. It is subject to change. All content may not be available in all Xbox Live regions.

This is a good game and a must have! I hope the developers add a "join in progress" option in an update, thats my only ask for this as there is alot of wimpy Bad losers who tend to disconnect alot! but def a great game for an arcade and for pocket money!

I was about to comment that the price tag was the same as a few lame maps for MW2, but everyone beat me to it.

i hope there r outdoor maps cuz all i keep seeing in the videos is indoor corridors, but overall i would rather pay 15 for this than for 3 new maps with mw2. I regret every dollar of my map purchases for mw2. stupid idea.

Hmmm $15.00 for some crappy maps or $15.00 for for an entire game. What to do what to do? F U Activision! Got the game and it's worth every penny. I will even say I'm having more fun with it than MW2.

I'm hoping that Blacklight will be a worthy purchase. I'm waiting for reviews, but if it's as good as it looks I'll definitely get this.

wow... with $15, you can either get a map pack of 4 maps...or this blacklight game which features seven game modes, 12 maps, and online multiplayer support for up to 16 players. Activision, YOU SUX!

BlackLight: Tango Down sounds really good for the price. I'll still wait for some reviews, but if it looks and plays well, it'll probably be worth a purchase. I'm still playing the first Monkey Island SE, so I probably won't get this one immediately. Already have FN4 and won't pay $20 for some Ski-Doo snowmobile game. I love all the XBLA games Microsoft, but when are you going to be just as passionate with exclusive regular 360 games? If they put more focus in that area we'd be in business. Nintendo showed off more then 10 exclusives at the E3 with at least 4 surprises. What did M$ give us? Let's get busy M$. Still waiting for Crimson Skies 2, Shenmue 3, MechAssault 3, Links 2011 (which will never happen since Access Software disbanded and the head man passed away), Rallisport Challenge 3 and Jet Set Radio 3. Not sure why Microsoft hasn't bought SEGA yet. That's one company that knows game console and games. Their knowledge could help Microsoft not only in the game industry, but also in the Japan gaming region. Rare hasn't done much for them game wise. Where's Conker and KI3?

Of the tiny bit I've played of Monkey Island 2: SE (on PC), I can already tell it's going to be great. The dev commentary with Ron Gilbert and Tim Schafer adds just another layer to the game.

the game plays really well (blacklight: tango down), but there is no way of joining up with your friends then finding a game, its really annoying having to have one person search for a lobby and then quickly try to invite everyone else in before it fills up, really really annoying

wont be buying the full version until they patch to fix this

No party play/ support ...having to find a lobby and then quickly invite your friends in before it fills or the timer runs out = FAIL such a shame as it plays really quite well
