Latest Call Of Duty pushes Halo 4 from the top of the UK chart; Xbox 360 version takes 60 percent of sales.
Call Of Duty: Black Ops II has entered the UK charts at number one, pushing out last week's champ Halo 4. The Xbox 360 version of Black Ops II proved to be the most popular, with 60 percent of sales. The PlayStation 3 took just 38 percent. The Vita version of the game, Black Ops Declassified, debuted at number 16.
It's no surprise to see Black Ops II at the top of the UK charts. Last week, publisher Activision revealed that the game has generated half-a-billion dollars in day-one revenue. That's a marked increase over Modern Warfare 3, which took home $400 million in day-one revenue.
The Sims 3: Seasons' number nine spot marks the only other new entry in this week's top 10. Some releases that didn't quite make it include Sony's Wonderbook, which entered at 25; Codemaster's F1 Race Stars, which entered at 26; and Sega's Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, which entered at 27.
I buy the Call of Duty games when they hit $15 dollars each used. I personally believe they are lackluster but good enough to pay a used price for several years down the road.
Im glad, just means the majority of younger crowd is playing Black ops while i can play Halo 4 without having to put up with screaming and swearing kids
@Sav117 I am just playing the Single player part if i want the Muiltplayer of the call of duty black ops i am going back to the Modern Warfare 3 a great Muiltplayer there.
At the end of the day this latest cod is the best of the lot since the original modern warfare & it makes millions so they would be stupid to just stop making them, i agree though it's getting old, i wouldn't mind going back to WW2 again tbh...
It shouldn't come as a surprise that COD topped Halo 4 simply because COD is a multiple platform game. I'm curious as to how the sales of the 360 version of COD compares to Halo 4 sales.
@Decessus I'm predicting COD has sold more than Halo 4 on the 360 personally.. I'd love it to be the other way round, but I doubt it'd be the case.
@Decessus Absolutely. How can it ever make sense to compare multi-platform sales against single platform? Of course COD stands a chance to sell more with a bigger target audience. So yes, how did the single platform share of COD compare to Halo?
bored with COD & COD news already
any interesting news? Should i buy NFS Most wanted half price on black friday? :p
dude give it up to hard work1most games are running on engine far better than cod but still they don't get the needed returns!that tells u its not just about the engine but something else needs to get worked on!i'm sick and tired of u haters!cod is the best and will still remain for years to come the best shooter ever made!in ur faces's men!
lets move on to far cry 3 and trade them both in for some good smoking plants. lol
hope far cry 3 burns both of these games in there spot. sick of hearing about COD. halo is not bad. OK COD went on the sales blah blah who cares lets move on to better games like far cry and alien marines. forward we go.
just people follow the trend. Its the same as music, people listen to the mainstream garbage(nicki minaj, bieber, lady gaga etc).Unfortunately marketing is the key to sell, not the quality.Good games(skyrim, dishonored, batman akrham asylum-city) didnt get that much credit as this garbage.
@Archxaniotiss Well at least Skyrim and Arkham city got nominations and awards from BAFTA and other websites chose them as well. Anticipating on Dishonored to get some too.
My hatred for CoD comes for what they have done to the industry in the past 5-6 years. "Dumb down your game so it will make more money." I know it's business but it's really sad that most of the industry has latched onto this plan.
I dont get people complaining about COD, it repeating itself alot, and activision milking COD way too much.. Comparisions about MW and BO series of COD. The thing is, they are earning half a billion in one day. And that is all what matters in the world now...No matter how much a game sucks, alot of effort and talent goes into making one. Artists and Developers work their asses off to get games on the shelves so people could get entertained. You dont know how its like to be working for a publisher, working day and night, to push another one on the shelf. But at least what we would like to hear is a word of appreciation of the work put in. Developers and Artists do not decide what will happen in a game. Thats the job of publishers to approve what.If they want a milking cow they get it ... so appreciate the people who work day and night on games. And stop hating everything and anything. And ffs stop comparing all the time...
HEY,WHO CARES??? WHAT ABOUT WE MOVE ON TO ANOTHER GAME WITH ALL THESE WORTHLESS AND REPETITIVE ASS CALL'O'DOODIE AND HALO 4 NEWS
Like any sane person would buy CoD on PS3. While it's a great system, Xbox Live has always been the place for the best online CoD experience.
Is the gaming chart going to become the same as the music, the same generic rubbish at number 1 constantly. Soon we will get popular gamers who like the generic stuff who are really popular who look down on alternative gamers who actually like something worth liking.
@torbonator You should probably go and check some of the charts from the past. It's always been like this. You just think it is different since this timescale is more immediate and relevant to you.
When people will find their ball, and stop buying this game ... I knew i had a ball every since black ops...
Everything is as usual and CoD will surelyd break MW3's record and become the new king of the hill. Meanwhile, the rest of the world goes on and continues to play other games as well as other non-CoD related stuff.

@Nikosnik123 yep, multiplayer didn't change much, pretty much the same. But the campaign is the thing that actually took a big step ahead. Treyarch done a good job for evolving COD. I understand that many people are like "its the same crap again". I bet they din't even bought the game and tried it them self. I finished the campaign, and really love the new style of gameplay. Haters gonna hate this game, because they think hating COD is "mature and cool"
@Nikosnik123 That's what she said.
I didn't buy it but I watched a live stream of some campaign and MP. MP looks the same and campaign looks to be the weakest of Treyarch's CoDs. I was pretty disappointed in Halo 4's campaign, haven't touched the MP.
