Black Ops II patch hits PS3

Update for Sony version of latest Call of Duty aimed at fixing lockup/freezing issues, though some still reporting headaches.
Activision has released a new patch for the PlayStation 3 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II, but it does not appear to have fixed what it set out to. Activision wrote in its support forums that it has launched an update aimed at fixing lockup/freezing issues, but also notes that some gamers are still experiencing the issues.
"We are doing everything we can to get to the bottom of it as quickly as possible," the statement reads. No specific timetable was provided concerning when the new fix will be ready.
Separately, Activision also addressed issues Wii U users are reporting. The company told gamers who are experiencing lockups to make sure they have the most recent version of the game. To do this, Activision said players should make sure they have installed all patches and title updates before jumping in. These updates provide improvements to security and fixes for exploits and crashes and do not affect saved games.

I am getting so tired of this game crashing almost every time I play multiplayer. I didn't $60 for this crap. Played 2 matches today and it crashed on the second one half way through. GET THIS FIXED!!!
First few days online I had to reboot the ps3 multiple times. Very annoying. I almost sold it and just played bf3. Great game btw, just getting a little stale.

Nahh, it's just getting that way with these games. The image is moving, but you've seen it that often over the past few years it's starting to burn to your retinas.

cheap studio needs to start developing on both or all platforms instead of porting all the effing time.
I think this is their way to drive people to switch to xbox, the franchise has been out long enough to already know what to expect when the only thing that changed are the maps, weapons & maybe a few other things.
@xincubuzzx For those of us playing on Xbox, we are not without our problems with it either. Several times I have seen what can only be described as the servers being down, regardless of what their website is saying. Sometimes for several hours at a time. Very annoying.
how does this make people switch to xbox? the game is just as shitty on the 3shitty as the PS3 and WiiU

step 4. spend hours on hold at Microsoft Support for trying to set up send back of broken system/
step 5. wait weeks while others are playing games on there issue free PS3 and Wii.
step 6. finally get system back only to have it burn a ring on your brand new game that is now unplayable.
step 7. go online and complain about the PS3 for random reasons even though the system has had NO technical issues to date.
step 8. get arrested for shoplifting since police IDd the loser who stole a 360 from a walmart.
step 9. get "salad tossed" in jail.
I have had a RROD and multiple other technical issues with my two xboxs. But nothing amounts to the amount of hours (literally) I have spent on hold trying to talk to a person at Sony only for them to try and call me a liar about their product not working and giving me problems. In fact my playstation for the past three months has sounded like a jet engine with its fans (sitting in open air on top of entertainment center). The fact is technology breaks, the more high tech, the more on it that can break. Its the support folks who make the difference in whether or not you stay with the product or not.

1 Like This is the 4th time I have bought COD on release day and the 4th time that I have been frustrated by how badly the mutiplayer performs. This isn't a small budget game made by 1st time developers, this is one of the biggest game franchises on the planet and they are unable to do a small thing like getting their game to work....

Shouldn't be if it has been tested properly. There are plenty of games released without the severity of problems that most of the big franchises suffer. The fact is they are rush released to meet deadlines and to satisfy the company share holders. If they delayed the release of BO2 by a few weeks, they'd miss a lot of the xmas market.

3 Like You also forgot to add that the PS3 can play JPN Blu-rays as well so that opens up all the imports as well. Im sorry but the 360 uses DVD's which are regioned but then again there isnt any imports for 360 worth playing. Also EVERYTHING that the 360 and xbox have done are based off of someone else's ideas. the controller is based of SEGA's Dreamcast controller design. Avatar's based of Nintendo's Miis. Kinect is just an overpriced Sony Eyetoy.
Also Microsoft PAYS out the ass to get just even a month early release of content and even then thats just to prop up a failed system. The 360 is failed system based upon global sales. if you go by that then the Wii is #1. Also Fable can just be played on PC

@lukewallwork @shady965 @Evanduil Xbox has the most install base of any console, and they do have exclusive rights to have maps first, but the only thing that makes me not get the 360 version is the Gold online pass... seriously i would buy COD games more for my 360, but getting the 60$ yearly gold pass is cumbersome, especially for someone on a tight budget, which is why i prefer to get the PS3 version, But now that the WiiU is out.. thinking on getting the WiiU version now..
