BioWare confirms Dragon Age II

@kirk_almeida Apparently Hawke is just the name of your character and you can still make whatever character you want. Male or female etc. *Phew that was a close one lol*

@ kirk_almeida Bioware has heavily hinted that DA2 is going more the route of Mass Effect and less Baldurs Gate which what inspired the first game. So say goodbye to all your characters. Hawke is a Character ala Shephard.

@SHERNEE Hmm doesn't sound like Hawke's a group i hope they don't reduce customization making new chars was half the fun for me i have like 30.

@fetusfart18... what if you've played the game with more than one character and made different choices. How is it possible for all of your character's endings to roll over to the new DA2? Or would you choose one of your character's choices to move on?

Is Hawke a certain group like being a Grey Warden or is it a person's name? Because I realllly hope you still get to create your own character like in the first one. Wouldn't be a proper RPG if you couldn't.

@hand4hire, choices you made in Origins that affected the world will carry over, but not your actual character. For example, who ended up ruling over Ferelden at the end of Origins.

Hard to imagine dragon age actually having a good combat system.

Its gonna be a full game this time right? Not a half a game with 5 different parts you gotta buy seperately, right? I liked DA:O, but I hate DLC that clearly could've been with the "full" game.

Are they forcing you to play as a certain character? I thought they might put in the whole mass effect import charcter thing.

you mean bioware confirms dragon effect with all the voice over for the main character and the choice wheel in mass effect....i will get very mad if they ruin a winning formula for no reason "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

I hope now that they develop the second installment, they would actually stop with the DLCs for the first one, even better they could release a complete edition of the game, containing both the original and the expansion, and all the DLCs they released so far.

Forget this game, the game that is going to kill all games coming in fall 2012 is the Modern Warfare Bake Me a Cake game for the Wii. That game is going to be hot. I heard when you reach level 30 you unlock this perk call the Martha Stewart baking sheet that decreases ur baking time by 15 minutes. CANT WAIT MAN

i hope this time around that fix up the graphic details, because when i was playing a noticed alot of the armour and weapons were kind of blury to look at

I would have preferred some major news on Mass Effect 3, but this is great too. I'm kind of concerned about a release date barely a year after the original, I hope they don't rush themselves. It's BioWare, though, I'm sure it'll be great.

It would be nice if they include co-op this time around

i cant wait till dragon age 2 come out... i enjoyed mass effect 2 and dragon age but i only play dragon age now... i stopped playing mass effect 2 2hrs in 2nd playthrough.

I thought the first Dragon age was rather let dwn

To be honest im not as excited by dragon age 2 as i am for mass effect 3 biut at the same time it will be sad to see mass effect finish up at the third one

Guys, the debut trailer coming on 08/17/10. For everyone who played DAO on console, that's really sucks cause there's no patch. Bioware made a great RPG with great story, great graphic, great gameplay, gread sound, and great everything on PC. For the console version, that's really sucks cause Bioware speciality only on PC

Still no trailer, no in-game screenshot. Only 7 months left...I hope that EA will not ruin Bioware by publishing a premature, incomplete game.

@organbank Right... I played the game from start to finish, twice, played all the expansions. Never had a single bug. EVER. Granted I played on pc, but still ... But really... People are douches for paying 49$ for a game that last 55 hours +. Right. They are worse than those paying the same price for 7 hours games even less polished. After giving us a lenghty main game, Bioware really is ripping us off for adding new content that's for most of it, impossible to add to the main game storyline, besides from flashback or flashforwards that would break the game's rythme. Geez... All the stupid stuff we read nowadays... Bioware is one of those decent devs left, even though they are now owned by EA... You should focus your hate on devs that deserve it better...

@ minime: EA/Bioware have not patched any of the major bugs in either console game in the nine months since its release. For the Xbox this means that all of the major game breaking bugs, as in if it happens you lose all of your saves and have to start over, have not been patched. EA/Bioware do not support their games. They do not do any Q&A before releasing the game/DLC eg: dex bug, the Awakenings DLC with its multitude of bugs, and 1.03 patch for the PC which broke the game completely. EA/Bioware do not care about their games nor their customers. All they do is release more broken DLC without even bothering to fix the original game. EA/Bioware customer support is a total joke. Only a douch would pay money for broken games that has no Q&A before release and no patches to fix the game. EA/Bioware is the most over-rated developer ever. All they are interested in is ripping you off. Keep the negative ratings up fanboys. I'll just start cutting and pasting this reply. The more people that are warned about these shoddy con artists who try to pass themselves off as developers the better.

@ Ares360 You are a complete idiot. its 8 months until the games release, its hardly developed and you're saying its already going to suck? All you're doing is spreading rumors that you read on forums. how would know if all those features are actually gone and if the story is going to be the same. Barely any details on the game have been released at all. You don't know what you're talking about and if anyone believes you they must be just as stupid and ignorant as you. Stay the hell out of serious discussions and take your rumors somewhere else.

Gonna be awful already read 5 forums and now you no longer pick a race, dialogue is from Mass Effect 2 but even more simplistic and on every piece of dialogue you choose it shows you the consequence of that choice before you make it which ruins your affect and consequence from the first one. Also speed up combat sounds good but for a rpg that relies heavily on strategic elements speeding up combat won't be good and the story really isn't different, Hawk is one of few remaining survivors of the previous Blight and is trying to gain allied accompanying the knights of Callahad. Why can't EA just leave good developers alone like Bioware and visceral.

good, maybe that's where Morigan went. I want to know where she is!
