Good, This means that if it's better, It's worth the wait. If it's not, Then there is no excuses :D We win either way.
Irrational Games' action shooter pushed back a month to March 26 for extra polish.
Gamers will not be able to take to the skies of Columbia as early as they may have hoped. BioShock Infinite has been delayed for a second time, with Irrational Games' new action shooter now due March 26, 2013. The game was previously planned to ship February 26.
The decision to delay BioShock Infinite again came after former Epic Games producer Rod Fergusson joined the developer in August. He suggested to staff that the game could benefit from three to four additional weeks of polish. In the long run, the delay would benefit the game, he said.
BioShock Infinite was announced in August 2010 with a 2012 release window attached. In March 2012, an October 16, 2012, release date for the game was chosen. However, the game would later be delayed to February 26, 2013, and was not on display at the 2012 Electronic Entertainment Expo in June.
When BioShock Infinite does ship, it will do so with great sales expectations. One analyst has suggested the game would be a significant financial boon for publisher Take-Two, saying it could ship 4.9 million copies.
At least gamers are made aware of the development of the game and are given a time frame of a release date , unlike some overly hyped title years ago (Last Guardian).
Totally fine with me. I love that the developers are pushing it back so we don't get a bugged out game. I will wait every time for a polished game. Irrational Games has yet to disappoint me.
Great !! Now I have time to wait to a better game that I can´t finish it in just a few hours !! But I still thinking this game could be awesome with a "Red Dead Redemption " kind of free to run multiplayer options and Founders versus Vox land conquer . DLC content ? And please , multiplayer haters don´t answer this . I love great games . No matter SP or MP .
Yeah, it got pushed back because the acumen I made correctly about that model struck her with a sudden last minute pang of remorse...'remorse' is the word I used, NOT 'conscience'...You can't feel what you don't have.
That's ok. I don't need to play this game anyway. GTA 5 will fulfill my gaming experience next year.
GOOD! I wish they had done this with Skyrim, but getting it out on the "supernatural" date 11-11-11 was apparently more important than spending an extra month smoothing out the massive amount of bugs...
Well, it only adds more to the quality of the game. Why not. Better a really really great game, than a game that could have been great if it wasn't rushed.
If the delay adds polish then great! To be honest theres quite a few games out in feb (deadspace 3, crysis 3, colonial marines etc) so the delay here is welcome :). to many games coming out at once
Awesome! The game is looking to become a masterpiece, best to finish polishing all the bells and whistles for a stellar release.
take your time, it is nice to see a developer not rushing to get a game out there just because they have a date to meet.
Dear Marketing dept
In future please avoid naming games with words like Forever, Infinite etc
And while I'm usually all for postponing if it is for polish, I have a big problem with companies that announce games way too early. Look at The Last Guardian! Prime example. I pretty much lost most of my interest in that one because of the premature hype and subsequent dive into dev hell. With Levine being a pompous a$$ - refusing to help at all on Bioshock 2, devs leaving Infinite early, mp being dropped and the excessive delays (this one is the biggest slap in the face as Levine could have gave the new date while he was on national TV just last night hyping up his game), I have very little interest in Infinite at this point.
@electronic_eye You thought "Infinite" was the subtitle to the game? No, that was their estimate dev cycle for it! ;)
I agree with others that Infinite has largely become a joke and that it was hyped far too early. As I've mentioned in related posts, while working at Gamestop (whose posted release dates I trust more than Gamespot's) Infinite was first listed as coming out Fall of 2011! So this whole "delayed for a second time" crap is just not accurate. At this point, the game will have been delayed a total of 4 times.
I love how this game has been delayed for well over a year now. I remember several months back several high profile team memebers left because of all the delay BS. In a a way I hope it flops because Levine does this all the time so maybe he'll be fired. Why do I want him fired? Because people who drag their butts are idiots whether it is laziness or just plain stupidity. Levine seems like a micor-manager who screws with progress and thus consistently pushes project completion time back. In fact the article I read about the staffers leaving said that if I remeber correctly. Plus, Bioshock is not that great, it could be if the gameplay was tighter and there was more meat to the game, as far as story and setting they were interesting in the first two but this one seems a little ridiculous and meh. IDK I have lost all faith in the game now.
This game should be basically bug and glitch free with all the delays. If it still comes out with a bunch of bugs and glitches then what the hell were they doing with the extra time?
they should have waited an extra year before they released any info on this game. But overall not a big deal.
One month? Big deal, wake me up if it is delayed by any significant length of time. A month is nothing.
this game has been available for preorder for soooo long, if the game sucks which i hope it doesn't then this will kill the bioshock franchise
If its to make the game as perfect as possible, I'll wait, but if its some stupid mistake, I'll be pissed...
Phantom breaker delayed 5 plus times, and might be canceled; ill live with one push back on a game that will eventually come back
They are going to put extra Polish people into the game. Good call, you can't go wrong with a lot of Polish.
Whenever someone starts talking about "sales expectation" I get nervous. However in this case I'd say there are good odds.
