Big in Japan September 19-25: Dark Souls

debating whether or not to buy it. thinkin about it but i want the MGS collection...and PSV drops soon here in Japan...decisions...decisions...

Well dark souls sold by namco since they took over series for some reason aslo gd see ico/ Shadow of the Colossus hd collection so 1st 2nd and 3rd sony shines

oh its not hard to figure out why xbox360 dont sell well in japan while ps3 and xbox360 have similar games - the exclusives for ps3 are usually jrpgs which japan loves while the exclusives for xbox360 focus on western fps and wars its just a matter of what u like really - therefor i for example choosed the ps3 - only reason was cause im more into the humour and games that japan do instead or fps wargames also except for that obvious it might have something to do with the fact that microsoft is the newest and is western - but im leaning more towards the actual games

nice going 3ds - considering there are still not enough games to make most people buy it (just remember u can all download free zelda swords 4 for 3ds and dsi right now!) very impressive for xbox360 to even get a title in the top 10 selling list in japan personally im not that interested in any of the top 10 titles though

big up to Gears for representing in Japan lets hope its stays ther for 2-3 weeks

360 version was not released purposely what if darksoul PS3 version was not released in america

@massconquer Japanese love RPG and anime based games more than shooters, nothing wrong with it.

It's always good when games that actually deserve it sell well.

Try to decide which bundle to get first, God of War HD remake bundles, which there are two, or this Shadow of Colossus/Ico bundle?Should get both, just don't want to spend the loot, especially since Rage is dropping this tuesday. As far as Dark Souls, I want it, but I haven't come close to finishing Demon Souls, and I'm a bit skeptical in my skills to carry me through Dark Souls if Demon Souls is so dang hard!!

@SuprSaiyanRockr Taste is subjective. Honestly, I think that ~90% of the Japanese games are terrible, especially the cliche JRPGs. But a lot of other people disagree. zzamaro is either trolling or just incredibly ignorant.

@halestrom88 Because it decreases the value an exclusive game might have. We don't all have to play all the games that are available out there so just get the ones that you want the most, and those games should be made properly. I see what you're saying, however that's just greed to play everything. There's few games that are exclusive at least those should live out and die as exclusive. I can completely understand why a lot of PC gamers hate consoles because making a PC exclusive to go multi-platform really shatters what it originally was by not putting enough effort into it. Best example, look at Crysis 1 compared to Crysis 2. I fear if they make a Dark Souls 3 it will be the Crysis 2 of that franchise.

i disagree althogh im lucky enugh to own both a 360 and ps3 other people out there cant afford both systems so y should such a great game be resrticted 2 just one its not about the money wen it cums 2 such a great game its about the experience share the joy

@Billy They shouldn't, In fact i'm actually a bit bothered by the fact that Dark Souls went multi-platform. They should keep exclusives as exclusives instead of just trying to make a quick buck and throwing games to as many consoles as possible to make more money. That shows to me they didn't have enough confidence in their game in the first place to make enough money if it had been done well enough. Many multi-platform games aren't not as good as they could have been because the multi-platform makes them be able to sell games to a wider audience not just a specific group so they don't try hard enough. Dark Souls however was intended for a smaller group and it's getting a bigger one, I don't doubt it being a really great game however if it's a game with plans to go multi-platform from scratch it will turn out like FF13. Just them testing our patience. Look at Halo or Gears 3 they probably wouldn't put as much effort as they do if it was multi-platform. The new metal gear will be multi-platform that will be the deciding blow if i'm right or wrong.

Joedgabe still the point is that Microsoft needs to buy out or invest cash into the japan market and try to bring more to the 360 beside sports and fps

@Billycoleman Billy.. just to let you know. Dark souls was originally intended to be a Playstation Exclusive just like Demon Souls meaning the developers "from software" only published it in japan as a ps3 exclusive. However Namco Bandai another publisher is releasing the game for the xbox and PS3 in NA i don't know if the rest of the world will get a 360 version or not. Microsoft did do it's part to bring a great game to the country where most of the xbox sales happen.

@SuprSaiyanRockr That's easy to know. Japanese people have better taste in videogames. Not just shooters like COD/Halo/GoW, that's what the xbox offer the most. That's why Nintendo and Sony do better than M$ in Japan.

It's great that a great game like Gears 3 made japanese buy X360.

soccerpzn well that and the fact the xbox 360 is being lazy hell thay dont have Dark Souls for japan on it and yet its a big seller way to go microsoft keep trying to sell halo and gears in the land were know one wants it same with dw7 no japan release date maybe thats why stores here dont want to sell your stuff anymore? and im no fan boy as i own and love my 360 just saying the facts))back on topic good to see dark Souls doing well i hope it dose the same state side

Wow the 3DS had a kick off :O Damn dark souls dominating, It's going to happen again next week. Game of the Year baby, or at least a nominee. I'll be damned it L.A. Noire wins -.- with their damn recycled gameplay for years and years.

It's kind of funny how whenever MS releases an exclusive it cracks the top 10 at its debut, but nothing else sells on the platform. :P And are those 3DS sales due to the Monster Hunter games being announced exclusively for the system? Probably. :P Dark Souls. Bring it on! :twisted:
