The XBox 360 has sold almost 3x's what the original Xbox sold in Japan. That's pretty impressive. That also means more Japan gamers are becoming interested in the hardware and the games. It's too bad Japanese gamers aren't as versatile as American gamers. We like a multitude of genre's were Japa gamers only favor 3-4 genre's.

thats the good thing with sony they have the advantage of japan + will NEVER have these numbers the 360 have in the U.S,reason that sooner or later sony will surpass the 360,it already sale more than the 360 worldwide 2 years straight,gogo sony keep the good work,if u hade not been 17 months behind microsoft u would have an advantage of 5 mill console in your favor.

Well I hope that Xillia sales proves to Namco Bandai, that it deserves a American and European release. Not just for Tales of Xillia but for any Tales release, including those remakes for 3DS and Vita they probably plan doing

Ouch, I cant believe the xbox is that low. And is that literally 13 for the go, why would they track a number that small, or are the numbers in hundreds or something.

ps2 is where gaming is at. I still try to play all the great ps2 games that I missed. rarely touching any current gen or PC lately.

For the industry experts who say the Japanese market is irrelevant; Japan is the second biggest market in the world after NA not just the US. It's bigger than Europe and Australia. So it's pretty relevant at least for those with remaining functional cells in their brains.

Just in case anyone haven't mention yet: PS3 RULES!!!

funny how PS2 can still sell a thousand units until now and it is still more than 360 sales well that is in Japan and I live in Asia and in my country it's the same and it is very hard to find a 360 owner but a PS3 owner is right around the corner..:P

the console list represent pretty much which games that sold (minus the 3ds who dont have any games in the top) id love to get the english version of tales of xillia, grand knight history and maybe rythm heaven too also its not strange that the ps3 is selling now, it was after all the console who had sold least of the 3 - now with pricecut and a better library of games- ofcourse it will sell im still surpriced at the wii still selling though considering most people must have bought it if u look at numbers already sold all in all - not to mention the wii is the only one who already got the next generation wiiu coming up ofcourse that is the same with psp - still selling even though vita is around the corner (ok so i just bought a psp...) but then if i knew japanease id buy it just for grand knight story only!

Why are Japanese sales figures relevant again? US game-sales eclipse them, even European, and South American. Never thought I'd see the day where Japan just didn't matter to a us-console gamer. Any gamers in high-school during the 90's will know what i mean. I still remember reading EGM looking longingly at their list of hot imports that would never make it here (here being the US). Can't remember the last time i played (or wanted to play) a Japanese game.

In before the usual comments about the PSP Go selling 13 units and the PS2 outselling the 360 :D
