Activision and Capcom's latest gun-focused titles makes debut on recent Japan sales list, but still loses out to Nintendo simulation title.

Gamers in Japan seem to love Call of Duty almost as much as Western ones, with the Media Creates chart for November 19 to November 25 showing that Black Ops II was the second most sold title for the week.

The PS3 version of the first-person shooter, distributed by Square Enix, was at second place with 197,350 units sold. The Xbox 360 version was at 22,177 units and was at sixth place. Both still came out shy of Nintendo simulation Animal Crossing: New Leaf's 213,414 units on the same week, which was enough to earn it the top spot. For more information on Black Ops 2, check out GameSpot's review and recent feature.

The new iteration of the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon series, subtitled Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth, was at number three. The 3DS game sold 121,480 units.

Also making its debut was the Lost Planet spin-off, E.X. Troopers. The 3DS version was at seventh place with 17,402 units. However, the PS3 version missed the top 10, placing at eleventh with 8,717 units sold. The game pits players as young soldiers fighting the akrids in a snowy wasteland. The title features cel-shaded graphics and fast-paced combat. Check out GameSpot's coverage on the title for more information.

On the hardware front, the PS Vita was at 9,712 units, while the total sales figures for both the 3DS and 3DS XL amounted to 162,077 units.

Animal Crossing is addicting and this version of it is my reason for getting a 3DS XL.
