I still have yet to play Yakuza 3 (except for the demo), is it worth it's $60 price tag?

I just hope Yakuza 3 sells well so that Yakuza 4 and Yakuza Kenzan get localized it's a great series.

Hell Yeah!.. Yakuza 3 is solid and right on! Great story line that glues you to the game.. Awesome character emotion... And Yakuza 4 is to be better no doubt.. Yakuza 3 was not GTA but its still had enough in the game to make it fun and play to the end.. Go Yakuza 4

we all know PS3s are much better than MS Xbox360s, i only played one of the yakuza games in ps2,it was in japanese,:( i hope it has english subs or something...

japanese ppl love technology or gadget stuff....so its obvious they will buy ps3 because of psp and all sorts of gadgets that sony do...ie tv and everything else..maybe if microsoft do its own tv ppl there will buy them...

@BallisstiXXX Yes, but times are changing even in Japan. The recent game you mentioned Battlefield: Modern Combat 2 is on the list at #15, GS just didn't go down that far. A few weeks ago Call of Duty MW 2 was in the middle of the top 50 list somewhere and even Call of Duty MW 1, despite its age, was on the list at #50. @crazyshooter93 I think it's almost unquestionable that Yakuza would make Sega more money as a multi-plat, Japan is not the only region that game would appeal to. Besides, other than the game in question I only see 1 PS3 game on the list as well, Japan has been a handheld country this gen. And yes, the PS3 has outsold the 360 almost 5 to 1 in Japan overall, but compare that to the 46 to 1 the PS2 outsold the original X-Box. Microsoft will probably more than triple the original X-Box's sales in Japan before long and unlike the original X-Box, the 360 games have occasionally shown up on these top 10 charts.

Aight i c how they do now. Release the older game in the US literally rite b4 the new 1 comes out in Japan. Thats messed up. We gotta wait a year b4 we get 2 play Yakuza 4.

I wish Gundam games would return to the US. Some of they have been pretty good in recent years. Just release them on PSN, Bandai Namco!

You can really notice a difference between American and Japanese taste in video games. Americans(me included) love Battlefield, Call of Duty, and other shooting games. The Japanese love..... well alot of different things that tend to not sell very well in America.

Damn, here in America we are just now getting into Yakuza 3, and in Japan they already have Yakuza 4.

Why is anyone surprised by low 360 numbers? Japanese people know faulty hardware when they see it. Besides PS3 is far far better console. 360 has an edge when it comes to online but i take quality and quantity of PS3 exclusives, blu ray, free online, great quality hardware over xbl. But that's just me

I may end up getting a PS3... in a year or so. If I do, Yakusa 3 & 4 are on the "get" list.

Good thing i can just buy the Japanese version of this game WITHOUT having to buy the Japanese console. Yes, I'm looking at my 360 as i type this.

@iiIsSueZ I'm no fanboy myself (though I'm increasingly starting to believe that the PS3 IS the console to buy at present in case you do wish to own one). Was just surprised at the huge difference in numbers; hence posted my comment. As for your statement, "Japan is the main reason that PS3 sales and 360 sales are as close as they are.", I believe with the line-up of games for the PS3, this might very well be about to change. Again, this is just the opinion of a person not so good at such kind of analysis - me !!!

@ iiIsSueZ Agreed. Japan is the domain of PS3. It'll take a while for an outsider to make any headway although the 360 has done remarkably well all things considering. There have even been times where the 360 outsold competition! Surprise. But considering the number of specialized Japan-only games on Sony consoles, is it any wonder they have such loyalty?

So... the 360 can only outsell a 10 year old system and a financial disaster? Hmm...

More people bought PS2 than PSP Go. I think this says something Sony...

@KrazzyDJ The amount of PS3's sold compared to 360's in Japan can't be taken as a bragging right for fanboys. Microsoft barely has a foot in the door in Japan and never will. Japan is the main reason that PS3 sales and 360 sales are as close as they are. I'm no 360 fanboy, infact I much much prefer my PS3. Just stating facts.

I should have known 4 was out already. I wonder if they'll get Mafia 2 in japan. I'll trade em all the Mafia 2 and godfather games for 1 copy of Yakuza 4 and I do mean all thats a fair trade lol

Sadly this means little to nothing in terms of Yakuza 4's chances for localization. It's all down to how well localized Yakuza 3 sells.

i think this is the figures in japan, so xbox is not that popular. u should look at worldwide figures. but ps3 rules anyway :D

I would like to see that strong sales of Yakuza in NA and Europa (and it is selling better in Europa then it does in USA) :) but at least it's selling great in Japan :) and the sales combined of all DS's surpassed the one of the PSP for just about 1000 :P and yeah for PS3 :D
