Here's a big question: Which version should one get, and why> Personally I am leaning towards my 3DS, but I'd like to hear everyone's view.
Big in Japan July 9-15: Time Travelers
Vita and 3DS versions of the Level-5 adventure title debuted at the bottom of the top 10; Pokemon Black/White 2 is still on top.
Even with the release of Level-5's adventure game Time Travelers, Pokemon Black and White 2 is still holding on to its top position in the recent Media Creates sales update for the week of July 9 to 15, selling 122,242 units and pushing its total sales to more than 2 million units.
Time Travelers made its entrance at the lower part of the top 10. The PS Vita version was in eighth place, with 9332 units sold, while the 3DS version capped off the bottom part of the top 10, with 9054 units sold. The adventure game puts players in the shoes of multiple protagonists linked together by a catastrophe called the Lost Hole incident from 18 years ago in an alternate version of Tokyo. While the game is also for the PSP, that version will only be on sale from July 19.
Other newcomers in the chart include the next entry in the Namco Bandai rhythm game Taiko no Tatsujin. The 3DS version, subtitled "Chibi Dragon to Fushiga no Orb", was in second place, with 65,462 units sold. Nintendo's first 3DS soccer game, Pocket Soccer League: Calcio Bit, was in third place, with 26,449 units sold.
Former top-spot holders Atelier Ayesha and Persona 4: The Golden resided below the top 10, with the former at 12th place, and 6813 units sold, and the latter at 15th place, with 6001 units sold. The PS3 version of Anarchy Reigns did not last long in the top 10, either; the game was in 16th place, with 5717 units sold.
In terms of recent hardware sales, the 3DS was still on top, with 47,063 units sold, while the PS3 trailed behind at 14,813 units. Sony's two handheld systems were still above the 10,000 unit mark; the PS Vita was at 13,427 units, while the PSP was at 11,004 units.
