Beyond Good & Evil going HD in 2011

The original game was great and I hope this game does well enough to support a sequel. I'm not going to buy the 'redo' though. I wish these developers would develop faster.

I think I'm going to get this. Was never a fan of rayman though.

this was the most underreated game of the ps2 era, maybe the last decade. all the the comments about "this game was already in hd on pc, blahblahblah", who cares? not everyone is hardcore into gaming on a pc. this actually provides a chance for a generation of gamers who never even heard of this title to experience what a great game it is. shouldnt that be enough of a reason to rejoice? don't hate on console players because your 3,000 dollar pc played this game at higher resolutions...8 years ago. your pc-nis (ha!) might be bigger than the next guys, but we are all here because we like to game, not because we want to brag about what are machine can do.

@Bosmer7 Thought it was as I have got this game on PS2, but didn't check before posting. BTW, Shadow of the Collossus, original Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time, and Tekken 4 are among a few PS2 games that are Progressive output (480p - 480x640) compatible - NTSC XBOX1 was also 480p compatible when used with the official add-on HDAV pack...

@Digi-demon Yes, I have the PS2 version, and there is a HD option in the game menu. Not sure what the res. is , but I can tell you it makes the game look clear on my HDTV. Not fuzzy like other PS2 games. I've not seen that feature on any other last gen. game. BG&E was a game ahead of it's time.

How much do you guys think it's gonna cost?

I heard good things too, but never got around to this game. Might just have too now, if the price is right.

Whooooooooooooa hell yeah! This is fantastic news! BG&E is one of the best games I have ever played. The sewuel will be amazing and getting the HD remake is just icing on the cake.I hope MANY more people who never played it get their chance now. This is a win for gamers of the highest degree.

I've been looking for the original recently but I think I'll just go with this instead. It will probably be around the same price anyway.

It's just lazy re-releasing the same game when all people want is a sequel. Besides I played the PC version, which was already "HD"

Priced right, I would buy this game again in HD. I played it when it first came out, and was one of my all-time favorites. A remastered release now (in HD) will allow many more people to play what was, and is a great game! With that increased fan base, the sequel we really want is much more likely.

Never played this game, so this is a good news for me.

Why dig out an old gem and bastardize it with useless HD graphics and crappy modern day innovations? And don't tell me that they are going to keep the game just as it was. They will change some things in it that they didn't like, just as every other company that has ever remade a game.

This game was a real underrated gem... lot's of fun, very well made, and and the time looked pretty cool.... I remember it came out about the same time as The Sphinx and the Cursed Mummy and POP.... I remember a lot of great games coming out around the same time so this one unfortunately got lost in the shuffle. Can't wait to play it again!

to everyone talking about wheres the PC version its already out ..its been out for years..and in HD. Embarrassingly a PC GPU thats 8 generations old will be able to play this in 1080p (tested on a 7800 GTX Nvidia) while console guys gotta wait until next year for a 720p upscaled version GG.

Wow, that sounds like a hell of a HD face lift. A remastered musical score too. We are getting quite a treat. I never played the original but it definitely might be worth a look this time around.

I never played that game, but it looks good, so I'm gonna have to buy it when it comes out in HD. I just need to decide which console to download it on... more likely the PS3.

I never played Beyond good and evil but I remember all the gaming magazines I used to read raved about it with very high scores. What put me off was that its just a little bit too french for my tastes, it has that strange french animation atmosphere about it like "Belleville Rendez-Vous". but I think I will give it a try at some point as it must be something special. Heres hoping for shenmue 1 and 2 remakes too.

hopefully this will spawn a set of HD remakes from other companies. here's hoping Devil May Cry 1 and 3.

I am 100% buying it when it is released. This was such a beautiful game! They rarely make games like these any more. Hope Beyond Good & Evil 2 keeps up with the same tradition and style as the first one when that gets released.

Man they are jumping on board with this, I just hope they don't go crazy and start releasing HD version of crappy PS2 games or shovelware.

I'm so excited about that. One of the favorite games from the last gen going HD. Hopefully this is a sign to hear some new stuff about BG&E 2.

@MERGATROYDER my guess is this is to further stoke interest. Only played through this once, but ill do it again, BG&E in HD, trophies seal the deal.

What happened to the second title? I guess that got scratched. I'll be watching the rehash closely.
