Battlefront.com on a Roll - Announcing Two New Games
Press Release
Battlefront.com (BFC) and Dan Verssen Games (DVG) are combining their talents to bring two classic tabletop game series' into the world of computer gaming.
The award winning "Down In Flames" system will be their first joint venture and is scheduled for release later this year. The computer game will stay true to its origins in both feel and flavor, while adding new features only possible with computer technology, like 3D animated planes and maneuvers! Down In Flames focuses on tactical fighter to fighter dogfight combat in World War II. The game is turn based, and the action is resolved through a unique 'action - reaction' game mechanic that allows players to experience the feel of real life aerial dogfighting with a fast paced, easy to learn system. The computer game will add several exciting features that fans of the tabletop game have requested since the game's release in 1993.
The second game planned for release following the launch of Down In Flames is the classic "Modern Naval Battles" series. Modern Naval Battles will also stay true to its origins in depicting easy to learn, fast paced naval combat. While the original Modern Naval Battles game took place in the cold war, the computer game series will make its premiere in World War II in order to take advantage of the rich background, flavor, and history of the time period. Six nations will be represented in the game: United States, United Kingdom, and France for the Allies, and Germany, Japan, and Italy for the Axis. Unlike the original game, where ships were randomly dealt to players, in the computer game, each player will get to choose a national fleet to command.
Both Battlefront.com and Dan Verssen Games are excited about working together to bring these games into the computer gaming world and are committed to doing everything they can to reach the fans of the tabletop games as well as introducing the games to the computer gaming audience. With this goal in mind, both games will be priced for easy entry in the $25 to $35 price range.
Free demo versions of both games will be available at the time of release for player evaluation. Game specific website's with screenshots, game info and additional features will be released as the launch dates for the games approach.
As with all Battlefront.com titles, the games will only be available directly online from www.battlefront.com.
