Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam to cost $15
Multiplayer expansion will take players back to 1960s Indochinese conflict this winter on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
During its Electronic Entertainment Expo media briefing in June, Electronic Arts unveiled Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. The multiplayer expansion pack will allow players of the contemporary military shooter to take a trip back in time to the Vietnam War, which raged from the mid-1960s to early 1970s. It will consist of four maps, including the rice fields of the Phu Bai Valley and the napalm-kissed wasteland of Hill 137.
This week, EA revealed the price of the Vietnam expansion as being $15, or 1,200 Microsoft points. It did so via a new trailer for the game (below), which depicts some of the intense combat the Vietnam War was known for. It also shows off some of the new vehicles in the game, which include the American Huey helicopter and M48 Patton tank. Some of the new weapons are also shown off, including the rare Navy SEAL XM22 machine gun.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be digitally distributed this winter for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It will also feature all-new dialogue based on actual Vietnam War radio chatter, as well as eight radio channels with nearly 50 tracks. The selection of songs will range from Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son" to Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," which was immortalized in the Vietnam War film Apocalypse Now.
