Multiplayer expansion will take players back to 1960s Indochinese conflict this winter on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
During its Electronic Entertainment Expo media briefing in June, Electronic Arts unveiled Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam. The multiplayer expansion pack will allow players of the contemporary military shooter to take a trip back in time to the Vietnam War, which raged from the mid-1960s to early 1970s. It will consist of four maps, including the rice fields of the Phu Bai Valley and the napalm-kissed wasteland of Hill 137.
This week, EA revealed the price of the Vietnam expansion as being $15, or 1,200 Microsoft points. It did so via a new trailer for the game (below), which depicts some of the intense combat the Vietnam War was known for. It also shows off some of the new vehicles in the game, which include the American Huey helicopter and M48 Patton tank. Some of the new weapons are also shown off, including the rare Navy SEAL XM22 machine gun.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be digitally distributed this winter for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. It will also feature all-new dialogue based on actual Vietnam War radio chatter, as well as eight radio channels with nearly 50 tracks. The selection of songs will range from Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Fortunate Son" to Richard Wagner's "Ride of the Valkyries," which was immortalized in the Vietnam War film Apocalypse Now.
@holtrocks That's how GS works, zero tolerance for trolling. Not happy? I couldn't care less. One who calls others "moron" because they don't agree to his meaningless opinion is most likely too young for this website.
@holtrocks o rly? I played for months and grew annoyed by the RIDICULOUS amount of lag. I'm not the only one. I'm on a T1 line here, it's inexcusable. Also, I reported you.
So the expansion pack for BC2 will feature new maps, vehicles, guns, and music all for $15. While MW2 map packs sold 5 maps for $15. You tell me which one is better bang for my buck.
"This is a joke compared to the true Battlefield Vietnam which had alot more then 4 maps..." You mean, that a full game, has more maps than a mini expansion? thats insane!
So... we are finally given new maps, and we have to pay for them, even though the VIP key was supposed to get us free DLC... whatever happened to that crap? Oh, I'm still waiting for my SPECACT weapons, Dice!
@snake289 and ditto for BF1943, compared to 1942. Four maps really is a joke. Oh well at least it'll be better than vanilla BC2. A list of the music tracks would be nice to see though.
Can't wait to crank-up the tunes in the huey,Hope Paint it Black is on there.I'll be getting this 4 sure.Worth $15 just for the 50 songs IMO.
@Hellcat- We better hope so. PC used to be good because of the free DLC now EA is trying to imitate Activision with its overpriced map packs. Shame EA!
So who were the two idiots who thumbed down ps3ownz97, just because he asked how much in British pounds? You've either got something against the British (in which case your an uneducated racist, d*ckhead) or the pound (in which case your just an uneducated d*ckhead),which is it.Hope someone thumbs you down for your nationality.
After the first Battlefield Vietnam and then by just reading the headline I was like, Oh boy... Here we go again. BUT, for 15$ this might actually be worth playing. MAN, I used to love listning to CCR while flying a Huey back in the day lol. Like someone else here said, I might just have to look up the Ol' teammates... BFV was one of the last games I actually played on team with other people in clan matches. :( Then it seemed like every other team started hacking every other game out there so...... Ahh the good old days.
I do know I am really looking forward to Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam, just can't wait to play it.
Because the Vietnamese(Vietcong) was not considered to be terrorist like the Taliban. There is a difference, big difference.
I hope it will be better than Onslaught because that one should have been free (and 1943 was a real rip-off because it works poorly which is a shame). As usual big question mark on how the servers will work or break............................. And a bit of extra story mode would have been good too.
Fifteen is a fair price in my opinion. Twenty seems typical for an expansion that is not just a map pack, but for twenty I would expect a little something for single-player.
