Battlefield 3, Theme Park iOS games inbound - Report
Portable versions of Electronic Arts' shooter and resource management titles arriving on Apple devices later this year, says UK mobile site.
In late July, Electronic Arts reported its latest quarterly earnings, saying 20 percent of total revenue came from its digital sector. The publisher will look to grow that business later this year, when it releases Battlefield 3 and Theme Park for iOS devices, according to The Pocket Gamer.
The report doesn't offer anything in the way of details concerning either game, but it did note that EA will reportedly talk more about each at Gamescom 2011 next week. An EA representative told GameSpot, "We don't comment on rumors."
Battlefield 3 arriving on iOS devices comes as little surprise, as its predecessor Battlefield: Bad Company 2 graced Apple's mobile devices. That version included a single-player component, as well as online functionality. As for Theme Park, that game was developed by Peter Molyenux's Bullfrog Productions, published by Electronic Arts, and released in 1994.
I can't wait to not play BF3 on a portable device. What a bunch of nonsense.
simply dice rocks ^^
Definitely something to look forward to. Even though I have Theme Park on the DS and I kinda hope EA does a better job with BF3 on the iOS unlike B:BC2 which seemed to be messy as hell.
yeah I doubt it will be any good on any other device.
Handheld version ....aka dumbed down in every way ...Dont expect jets
well they have the right to do that after all its clear they are working hard on this game so they should get some extra $$ and im talking about DICE not activi$ion twin brother EA.
@dah_master ...support up to 8 players at a time and have a map as small the Call of Duty maps. Vehicles not included. @fadersdream I don't know. I hear a lot of talk about Battlefield 3 but almost no talk about Modern Warfare 3 except for how bad Battlefield will cream Modern Warfare.

I saw this coming...
Theme Park is a great start, but Theme Hospital will always be my favourite.
Theme Park! :D Would love to see a remake on XBLA and PSN. Theme Hospital too please.
I wonder if it will support 64 players, and offer destructable buildings or...
I really hope they carry over the realistic damage from MOH over to this game...at least for single player. I don't know about everyone else, but I find it dishonest how many M RATED military shooters portray the impact of a bullet or an explosive to a human body. Bullets leave wounds and explosives take off limbs, no matter what the "clean killing" in MW has you believe.
@nyran125 Ya any PC can run it because cod has looked the same since 4 and still will
Battlefield 3 will NOT outsell MW3. But it will be a better game. Be thankful, if it did outsell MW3 half the people on here would turn against it and say it sold out or that it's now garbage.
Wake me up when Theme Hospital is brought back to life, then we'll talk.
How deliciously interesting. Wonder how much it will cost.
I seriously wish EA would do another 'theme' game. Whatever happened to Bullfrog anyway? *checks wiki* Oh right.. EA bought them out and turned them in to 'EA UK'. That explains everything.. They should get on the phone to Molyneux and ask him to consider a Theme Hospital 2. With updated graphics and gameplay that would be spectacular :D p.s. can't wait for BF3! Yesssss.. A proper FPS!
@helldews Why are you still whining?

@Megachaoz I think like BFBC2 owns MW2, BF3 going to own MW3, in selling. Skyrim looks great but probably not Game of the year.
halo 2 don't even support windows xp tells you something don't it
@nyran125 you completely just talked out of your ass on that one.
it wont look like that pic on iOS, though! lol
Battlefield 3...Guaranteed to F*** You up!
Battlefield 3 (Best FPS 2011) MW3 (Most Sells 2011) Skyrim or Saints Row The Third (Game of the Year)

LoL nyran125 already posted that comment on a couple of post LoL.... Can we call that spamming? Should we report to gamespot that he is doing public fan base harassement? AND why is BF3 so damn good looking O.o so many questions LoL P.s. I love his way to say stuff he doesn't even know about on how the all games are better then battlefield xD its more like all the games u pointed out are not the same type as battlefield XD (not saying there not good since I play all of those. Im just pointing out (like alot of people) That ur comment is a small way to see how bad u ended up in u life *sry*
@nyran125 um...wow...jeez...how do I even start...ok, well diablo and starcraft are not even in the fps catagory, so, you mentioning them like that makes you seem very dumb. activision does not design engine's they are a goddam publisher. If poeple can play cod4 on dial up, well thats because it is crap, and because every cod game runs on the same engine, then all of them must work on dial up, that is if its even true. your just way consumed with cod, and dont lie you will get elite. activision is "money grubbing" thats why a cod game gets out every year with like ten companies working on them, thats why its lame. here the difference bf has a community and cod just haves a bunch of people that will buy the next cod game and all its dlc. anyways this: "are you using your ass instead of mouth?"-aamir69 and go camp with cod and stop saying crap if you dont know what you are talking about.
uffering-evil i don't know man
@suffering-evil i don't know man. Especially with all those CoDsuckers out there.
all i know is that i'm a fan of both mw3 and battle 3, both will sell great numbers during holiday season, its when q1 and q2 in 2012 is when we'll see who's gaming substance will last, and right now it ooks like battlefield, but hey, we'll wait and see
@nyran125 "that tells me that Activision, although money grubbing and ill never buy Elite service EVER. But they want more people to enjoy Call Of Duty" that means they want more ppl to buy it, not enjoy it... lol idiot fanboy alert. "I think thats a good thing. more players." more players? o rly? have fun on your 24 person servers while i'm on 64. lol 12vs12 or 32vs32 plus better graphics, more unlocks, weapons, vehicles, helicopters and jets? 9 out of 10 people know what's better. the other 1 out of 10 are fanboys. wonder where you belong in that line up

yay! BF3 ipad! thatd rock!
I love BF3, I hate EA.
This will be good.
Awesome cant wait for BF3 launch! :D
I probably will get thumbs down but bc2 on ios was terrible and I bet it will be the same for this.
@ziproy Have you ever played the iPhone port of Bit.Trip.Beat, Myst, Riven or The 7th. Guest? Or the PSP port of FF Tactics and Disgaea? Or Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy IV and DQ IV on the DS?
i want Theme Park World to work on Win 7!, i cannot get it to work! plus BF3 is awesome and BC2 on iPhone is terrible.. haha
dear EA. PC gamers happen to reside on steam. notice how steam has like 30 million accounts? Theres a reason for that. we want good games on good services. not on some other crap. PUT BF3 ON STEAM DAMMIT
IDK how people play portable ports. They are always absolutely terrible
...:P
BF3: Theme Park should be the first expansion.
I will be able to play Theme Park while peeing? My life is complete.
@nyran125 you poor, poor creature.
i cant wait for Modern Warfare 3 . Screw Battlefield 3. Modern Warfare 3 is supporting XP and DX9 and STEAM :):):). Battlefield 3 and its stupid fanboys can suck it. Theres a reason why Starcraft 2 and diablo and Counter strike and Call of Duty OWNS battlefield. Activision and Valve and Blizzard design engines that look fantastic and run on everyones computers. With fantastic scaling of all different types of computers. People can even play call of duty 4 on DIAL UP!!! without slow down, that tells me that Activision, although money grubbing and ill never buy Elite service EVER. But they want more people to enjoy Call Of Duty, than just a handful. Yes, even people on dial up. I think thats a good thing. more players.
Put Battlefield on Steam! What is your problem, EA? Fragmenting the already diminished PC market doesn't help with business.
i'm sure those will be great. (not really) but i shouldn't say anything yet. ^.^
