Battlefield 3 DLC mobilizing on PS3 first

Damn 3 years and the game launched in a beta form?

even though its early talk about DLC its not gona be like CoD (15 bucks for 4 maps) it will be like bc2 ( whole new game for 15 bucks) i would think this first DLC will be 4.99 or so.

I'm getting this on PS3 because I prefer PS3. I would get it on PS3 all the same even if the case were DLC having a 3 month exclusivity window on Xbox360. I don't see how a DLC exclusivity window of any period (short of permanent) would affect anybody's decision of what version to buy.

I never cared about using the jets cos im bad at using them i took off lost control and crashed into one of our own tanks:(

i know dlc keeps things interesting but i really hate seeing that word when the game is not even out yet

PS3 = early DLC PC = 64 players XBOX = ? Lol, seems DICE is not a fan of the 360. Doesnt really matter tho. The DLC is only a week early. Thats wayyyy better than the advantage 360 CoD players had over PS3 (4 weeks)

Only suckers buy DLC at full price, I will wait until they are on sale, regardless of the console, and both games too might I add.

@edinko 1. You didn't compete at the tournament. 2. The Playstation 3 control was extremely sensitive and auto aim was virtually non existent. Gamepad veterans for Xbox were totally surprised at the tourney. 3. You're another wannabe PC elitist that makes assumptions. If I had auto-aim like you described it - I would have won a lot faster. Too bad the PS3 didn't help me out there. P.S. "which ia about as playing with a controller"? Really? Yes. You do have much more important things than an "auto aim" tournament. Please go to school. And give me your Origin ID so I can drop bombs on you all day.

Won't be long now and they'll release DLC before the actual game. :P

Finally. I only have a 360, but boy it would be nice to see Microsoft sweat a little bit and work for its supper for once. Way to go Sony, fight back and draw the line.

Sony having first dibs on DLC for an FPS?! :o Wowzers. And we all thought the 360 was the 'shooters' console. Sony seem to have stepped up their game. It may only be a week, and it probably won't do all that much for sales. But I'm happy, I'm a Sony gamer that was buying Battlefield - so the sooner it's available for download the better. I'm not going to gloat to the 360 users, but this is still pretty cool. Very good news indeed :)

WEAK. If you guys already have maps and stuff planned, why not just release it with the product? DLC is killing gaming. I always feel like I only bought 2/3 of a game, then a month or two down the road I have to overpay for what should've been there in the first place.

it makes a change for ps3 to get content first, though it doesnt really matter! If it was a full retail release being launched earlier on the pS3 then it would be different, but DLC, i can always wait for

@Gigas_Yuu I am pretty sure i miss out something important in my life when i pass on AUTO-AIM tournaments and AUTO-AIM FPS with sluggish controls. i guess each of us is probably in denial about something. but i guess for some ppl its is ok to eat a pizza with chinese sticks which ia about as playing FPS with a controller.i use a controller myself but i guess i am not delsuional enough to force myself to use a terrible control scheme when i have a choice /facepalm/

Ahhhh, I remember the good ol' days when DLC came out at the same time for every console. That is slowly becoming a thing of the past, which is lame.

Well what do you know, kind of dumb since it's one week only but I'm happy to see sony funding this dashing game.

These timed DLC exclusives are such a joke. I'd love to know how much money Microsoft and Sony shell out to companies like EA or Activision for getting the "DLC released first on..." badge.

I'm getting BF3 for all platforms to play with each respective friend list. No elitism here, except for the fact I'm competing in the tournament...the one with the gamepad (Ps3) /snobbery PC elitists are so cute! I probably have a PC better than all of them. She's not all together yet. Newegg just shipped her parts. I am still looking forward to the PS3/Xbox 360 comparison. I just like to see what they can do with "old hardware". It always fascinates me and flat out surprises me at how good it can turn out

@gregdb22: You haven't heard? BF3 on PS3 also contains BF 1942. It's only a small downloadable game but still a nice extra if you ask me. Also, these are not actually deals with Sony. It's more like "There's still enough space on the BD, so why not add an old game we made enough profit with? Should boost our reputation."

That's a dumb call. It's pretty stupid just to get it a week earlier before everyone. Most people will take a weekend to finish campaign, and then play abit more on MP, by the time your done it will alraedy be available to everyone. Now, IF they gave it away for free like with Dead Space 2, THEN it would be a different matter...

@godzillavskong i have notihig against consoles pal! i know there are millions of in denial console players who probably force themselves to believe that FPS+gamepad doesnt suck. thats what i call today the inferiorist complex

@COPMAN221 To each his own, but I have to agree with PixelAddict, as far as the controls go. The PS3 controller feels more floaty, especially with the analog sticks, that and they are bit too close together for me. While it doesn't ruin my gaming experience and I still love my PS3, I prefer the 360 controller, that's why I would also purchase multiplat titles for it, unless the PS3 had some exclusive deals lined up.

@edinko Completely wrong. There are millions of console gamers who disagree with you. You may not care for it, but there are tons of people who really enjoy it, and can't wait for this game to release on consoles. Just play it on your PC and be happy, no need to bash the platforms that other gamers play on.

I'm a PS3 guy, but to be honest I don't know why sony did this. They have done and what they should have done is lock in exclusive rights over microsoft to get the PS3 version bundled with another game on the disc like they have so many times in the past. For example: Medal of honor came with Frontline only on PS3 and Dead Space 2 came with Extraction only on PS3... $15 games for free to PS3 owners and both EA titles. And how they are working with Ubisoft to bring the first Assassins Creed on the Disc with Revalations only on PS3. At least they did something though.

WTF DICE!! This game was meant for PC! Everything with this game now is either becoming console exclusive or first DLC. If the PS3 gets their stuff first then give us our DLC for free to compensate.
