so lame, glad i got my pre order money switched to a game that runs at sixty frames per second!!! rage is going to awesome! dice stinks lol! let the comebacks fly!!!! grrrrr! lol!
[UPDATE] EA Dice executive producer ostensibly confirms publisher will release sampler of upcoming FPS before the game is out later this year; publisher says he meant beta.
[UPDATE] As it would turn out, EA isn't quite yet ready to commit to a pre-release demo for Battlefield 3. Responding to GameSpot's request for comment, an EA spokesperson indicated that Bach's comments pertained to the previously announced multiplayer beta for Battlefield 3 and not a demo as was previously reported.
GameSpot's original story can be found below.
Considering the massive popularity of the Call of Duty franchise, it's no wonder Activision hasn't pushed Infinity Ward and Treyarch to release pre-launch demos of their recent military first-person shooters to build hype. However, with Electronic Arts positioning Battlefield 3 as its Call of Duty killer, the publisher apparently will be pulling the trigger on a pre-release demo.
Speaking to MSXbox-World, EA Dice executive producer Patrick Bach reportedly confirmed that a demo for Battlefield 3 would be available prior to the game's launch this fall. Unfortunately, Bach's reply amounted to little more than an answer in the affirmative. As such, he did not offer any additional gameplay details or a specific release timing. EA had not responded to a request for comment as of press time.
Battlefield 3 will sport both a single-player campaign and an online component, which can be played with up to 64 players (for the PC version only). Battlefield 3 will support co-op play for its campaign and will let gamers pilot jets, among other vehicles. Additionally, Battlefield 3 will run on DICE's updated Frostbite 2 engine.

@wackedwilly I'm sorry, I tend to assume most people understand sarcasm. As @jimmyjimjim pointed out, I was mocking you for even attempting to compare real life to a videogame in the first place. By saying I hid behind a truck and the "red stuff" disappeared I was merely pointing out that THAT DOESN'T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE, just like everything else in a videogame. Just like I said CoD was spot on FOR BALANCING. Obviously I didn't get shot 13 times in Iraq, I myself never got shot at all. I think it would be best if you avoided responding in the future as every time you do, you prove further and further just how stupid you really are. This could have been a nice discussion, I simply wanted to point out that your "15 Bullet" number was exaggerated. Now I've pointed out that you lack any and all common sense.
@WackedWilly Dear lord the satire continues, Since you have a short attention span let me quote you " " you can take about 15 on average before your dead." " Yup that's about as relevant to everything he and I both have been saying and where your debacle started. You keep digging your hole though you're quite good at it. The fact that I have to continually belabor the point to you is disheartening.
@JimmyJimJim Like I said before I'm trying to end this. Overall you comment doesn't make sense. I see what your trying to say, but even that is ineffective because it seems you don't comprehend this argument very well. It all started with me saying you don't instantly die from 1-2 body shots from an automatic weapon. Then that's where you and Dareitus came in. I just have to say... "even I knew his statement about being shot 13 times and ducking behind a truck wasn't to be taken literally and was merely a figurative example of your "obtuse" statement." This is what I find rather comical how you completely misinterpreted his comments and blame me for your actions. He wouldn't have said "Oh right, So before I said I was an Iraq War veteran, so me being a 7 Year Old is a perfectly logical conclusion for you to make" May I suggest a class in English Language Arts? Anyway this is my last comment because It's very tiresome explaining things to two fools when I'm trying to see news about upcoming games such as Battlefield 3.
@WackedWilly sigh even I knew his statement about being shot 13 times and ducking behind a truck wasn't to be taken literally and was merely a figurative example of your "obtuse" statement. The fact that you went on such a long winded diatribe over something as MOOT as that and tried to pose a logical rebuttal over it is really quite amusing. I don't know if you were dropped on your head as a child or low IQ's run in your gene pool but pls do the world a favor and don't procreate; in the words of you and you're infinite wisdom "That's why I draw the conclusion you're a seven year old your not very intelligent. " even that sentence has illiterate satire written all over it. You my friend are classic; thanks for the good laughs though.
@Dareitus Haha Iraq War Veteran you call yourself? It's a shame to see what America has become these days little kids pretending their Iraq War Veterans. Like I said before, over the course of...what five comments? you've managed contradict yourself so badly (it's actually kind of funny). If you want me to explain it to you continue reading. You said "I managed to hide behind I truck for about 30 seconds after the 13th bullet hit me so the red stuff disappeared out of my eyes and all my bullet holes disappeared." First off 13 bullets you said you were hit by that's pretty close to 15 (last time I checked). Also I was talking about instantly dying it doesn't take 2 from an automatic weapon to kill you instantly. Second off "red stuff disappeared out of my eyes" do you mean blood? your suppose to be educated on physics before you're sent to war. I'm also pretty sure you've been playing too much battlefield they put blood on your screen just to indicate that you've been shot because you can't actually feel the bullets hitting you. I'm pretty sure blood comes out of your arm when you get shot in the arm not your eyes. Sorry got off topic there anyway than you said "No game that wants to claim to even slightly be realistic would use more than 3-5 Rounds as the general kill count." So going by this logic you would've died in Iraq (that is if you follow your previous comment) That's why I draw the conclusion you're a seven year old your not very intelligent.
@Wackedwilly Oh right, So before I said I was an Iraq War veteran, so me being a 7 Year Old is a perfectly logical conclusion for you to make. @Jimmyjimjim Win.
@Dareitus Well looks like this is the end of our arguement, guess i'll have to be the bigger man and end this. Explaining things to children is really aggravating. One last comment "COD on the spot with damage" I stopped reading your post right after that...silly 7 year olds who completely contradict themselves after multiple comments. @JimmyJimJim You too kid, no more will I argue with people who refuse to accept the truth. Any way can't wait for that BF3 demo.
Just to be clear, my comment below is in regards to a specific conversation with WackedWilly. Personally, I think CoD is pretty spot on with damage, as it is a VIDEO GAME and balancing takes priority over realism. Yes most of the guns are underpowered when compared to their real world counter parts but it wouldnt be much fun otherwise.
@wackedwilly I know I'm feeding the troll here, but as a matter of principal, I must say: In no way are we, nor will we ever be on the same page. It doesn't take anywhere near 15 bullets to kill someone, 1 will do the job just fine. Let me tell you a little something about getting shot you apparently don't understand. IT HURTS. You don't keep running, you don't keep aiming, you don't do anything other than address your new injury. And while your doing that you get shot a whole lot more. Even round that strikes body armor will cause bruising and even broken bones, hell I once saw a guy practically thrown to the ground by the force of a 7.62 round thwaking his plates.. The armor we in the military wear is only rated to stop 1 or 2 rounds, after that it just shatters and creates MORE SHRAPNEL for the bullets to bring with them as they pierce your flesh. No game that wants to claim to even slightly be realistic would use more than 3-5 Rounds as the general kill count. (I'm talking body shots, obviously Head is less, Extremities more). Everyone is different, and yes SOME people could keep fighting as if they are unaffected after a bullet or two. But MOST humans aren't going to be doing a damn thing after even a single one tears through any part of their flesh.
@Dareitus You know what's funny is I know plenty of people that have served as well and I was thinking the exact samething when I read his comment.
@WackedWilly... I directly quoted your statement, it should be rather palpable what I'm talking about.
yes..may be am from the people who even didnt play COD:BO cuz i saw it at utube and found it very much like MW2 so i didnt buy it, and yes am from the people who loved BC2 and even MOH more than MW2 and BO..at the same time i dont hate them all..but the point is as long as EA and Activison are in a competition level as long as both of them will make better games at the end for us as for example BF3, EA made this game to be as they said "COD killer"..so if there is no COD, do u expect from EA to make BF3 ?, and in return COD of course will try its best with MW3 to at least compete BF3..so it not good 4 us to make one of them especially Activison "COD" to stop making COD again..am not attacking the ppl who hates COD but its only an opinion as at the end we are the players are the winners from this "COD & BF, MOH" competition.
This game is going to be EPIC, with dice's engine and their never failing Battlefield games...this ones going to be the game to play no doubt.
@JimmyJimJim "You're statement is obtuse" I'm picking the second one for the quote above makes no sense what so ever. Under what circumstances is it obtuse.
@Dareitus Did I say in a row no I did not I'm talking about instantly dying so from your previous comment it looks like were on the same page. If you truly are a veteran from Iraq you have my apology. No I don't spend my life on a gaming website either and no im not 12.
@wackedwilly I forgot to mention, I myself would have died in Iraq, but luckily I managed to hide behind I truck for about 30 seconds after the 13th bullet hit me so the red stuff disappeared out of my eyes and all my bullet holes disappeared. I got hit a couple more times after that but luckily never 15 in a row.
@wackedwilly Late comment, sorry I don't spend my life on gaming forums, I'd really like to know where you got your information from, as me and all my buddies that served in Iraq, specially those that didn't come home with me, beg to disagree. It takes 15 bullets to kill some one? Are you 12?
now been looking forward to a game this much since call of duty 2 on the pc after sending my early teen life on cod1 . this i think will slay call of duty if it plays as good as it looks :) too bad its ages off C:
@oKiRe I agree, this will be a kickass game but most Call of duty games sell well because the majority of the people who buy it will buy anything with the CoD name on it... i know people who will actually only buy Call of duty titles... but i don't care really its their loss What i do hate is how EA claim this is the CoD killer, its ridiculous... they even said it was just built to take it down... which sounds stupid because it wasn't, its built because DICE knew it was wanted badly by everyone who plays battlefield games, and they were finally ready to make it
@JimmyJimJim Sorry to tell ya, kid your Call of Duty isn't realistic, in fact its very far from realistic. You don't take two bullets from an SMG an instantly die, wounded? somewhat, but no where near being dead. (unless you took some bullets before)
@Dareitus What do you mean been shot? by real bullets? I doubt anyone on this website has, by metal BB's yes I have. Just so you know bullets from automatic weapons, you can take about 15 on average before your dead. My main point was that its unfair that you can take so much damage and at the same time your being wrecked on all sides. I perfer if games try to be balanced not Realistic. Ever beat W@W on veteran? Try to and then you'll understand
I will try the beta first, and then buy it... I just cannot risk in these days... :) look at MW2, it was represented in very very good way, but thanks god i didn't buy it... :)
People saying BF BC 2 has laggy servers need to buy something besides that 56kbps dial up connection.
just hope they released a demo like what they did with battlefield 2 (gulf of oman map with online and offline modes).
#360hammer If you have a sensible response then continue, and make your point instead of replying by calling me stupid and or dumb. You have nothing that has proven your argument over mine other then blurting out people are "mindnumb" and backing it with no reason other than, "dumb", "stupid". I am simply asking about the map sizes on PC compared to console...etc..Like I said..re read what I posed. I am also comparing BF2 and not BFBC2 at all. So it makes no sense what you originally posted. Unless you want to make your point to me like a adult.
No doubt MW3 will outsell this. However this game will be alot better. I'm just not looking forward to the EA dlc weapon and map packs, day one.
@360hammer you do realize Battlefield 2 is a different game then Battlefield bad company...I really don't see how referring BFBC2 had anything to do with my argument vs BF3. Does that makes sense to you? And again, I am not the one insulting players, and or calling names. So again, call it what you will...another report for harassment.
@360hammer Flaming: Communications clearly insulting other users, individually or as a group, directly or indirectly, are not allowed. This includes, but is not limited to: name-calling ("You're an idiot", "You moron"); direct insults and orders ("Screw you", "Go kill yourself"); insinuations ("Are you stupid or something?"); or insults towards family ("Your mom?").
@360hammer you don't need to send me a harassing message in my inbox. I never said anything about BFBC2 or was relating anything to that game. I was talking about BF2. Please stop sending me messages and calling me "mindnumb" that is against TOS. You have been reported. I was simply stating a opinion. Because you don't agree with it, doesn't make your opinion correct.
The earthquake in the trailer looked and sounded VERY realistic! I would know too, Ive experienced and earthquake!! Also I cant wait I might buy this game
@icecoldkilla78 I agree as much as W@W's story mode pisses me off and the shotgun campers in MW2 and the fact you die if you take two bullets in every cod game you still can't say cod's down right terrible. I think of it as cod being an arcade shooter and BF being a tactical shooter. Although now I'm getting sick of every shooter copying everything from cod putting it into a game with a different name and saying its new. The only thing that's down right terrible about cod is W@W's veteran story mode the Japanese and Germans apparently got a wholesale on grenades before ww2.
faultline was one the best trailers i've seen in ages. what is with all this COD hate? just let people play whatever they enjoy. personally, i prefer Battlefield games...COD is too nonsensical and in your face all the time. except COD2 and 4, i liked those.
