Battle Medley 2011 to be held at TGX
Tournaments for 2D fighting games held; special appearances by Japan tournament players Momochi and ChocoBlanka.
The upcoming The Game Expo in Singapore will not just be the hub for the World Cyber Games 2011 Singapore qualifiers. Local fans of 2D and 3D fighting games can also look forward to putting their skills to the test in the upcoming Battle Medley Singapore 2011 event organized by local fighting game community Round1.sg, held also at TGX at the Singapore Expo.
The games that will be featured in tournaments are Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift 2, and Tekken 6. Registration for these tournaments will start at 10 a.m. on September 10 and September 11; gamers can head to the Round1.sg forum thread for more information and updates.
Special guests include Yusuke "Momochi" Momochi and Yuko "ChocoBlanka" Kusachi. Both players are renowned in the arcade 2D fighting game scene, with the former winning last year's Super Battle Opera tournament in 2010 at Makuhari Messe with teammates Kindevu and RF. The two players had recently participated in this year's Evolution Championship tournament. The two had been signed on with North America professional gaming team Evil Geniuses last July alongside Justin "JWong" Wong, Ari "FloE" Weintraub, and "Ricky "PrettyRicky" Ortiz.
TGX 2011 goes from September 9 to September 11.
