Baten Kaitos soundtrack CD for preorders
Order Namco's GameCube RPG at Toys R Us or Amazon and get a free soundtrack CD; more retailer promotions to follow.
Role-playing enthusiasts anxious to get their hands on Namco's upcoming GameCube title Baten Kaitos are about to have something extra to get excited about. GameSpot has learned that Namco and participating retailers are planning a variety of different bonus giveaways when fans purchase the role-playing game.
Partial details of one such promotion have already been revealed. Toys R Us, through its online store on Amazon.com, have announced that customers who purchase Baten Kaitos at Toys R Us stores or online will receive a free soundtrack CD. Namco confirmed today that the mini-CD will include a selection of tunes from the game, although details on the track list have not yet been announced. The CD will ship along with the game, and quantities will be limited.
Namco has also confirmed that such offers will be available at other stores, featuring bonus materials exclusive to those retailers. It has been confirmed that EB Games and Gamestop are offering different promotional items for purchasers of Baten Kaitos. Details on these promotions have not been announced, but they are expected to be revealed next week.
Developed by Xenosaga creators Monolith Soft, Baten Kaitos is a fantasy-styled RPG for the GameCube featuring scenario writing and art direction from members of the Chrono Cross team and a soundtrack by Star Ocean and Tales composer Motoi Sakuraba.
GameSpot expects to have full details of the other promotions, as well as further details on the soundtrack CD, sometime next week.
