@ Vimanesba Well... Now who is right? Your opinion or Billboard's? We don't care if you don't like the list... All those artists you mentioned are very popular and working hard to make good music especially Evanescence(for me)... Okay you don't like them, but it doesn?t mean that Activision has a bad taste of music... If that exists, the same goes with you! Everyone have their musical style! deal with it...
Activision takes the lid off of family-friendly rhythm game's console, DS Lite soundtracks; 61 tracks importable to Guitar Hero 5.
Activision's rhythm game barrage is set to continue on November 3 with the release of Band Hero on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, and DS. Designed with casual, family-friendly play in mind, Band Hero works much the same as Activision's well-received, though commercially underperforming, Guitar Hero 5, letting up to four singers, guitarists, bassists, or drummers jam along to a mix of classic and contemporary pop tunes.
Today, Activision announced the specific bands and tracks that will be included in Band Hero's 65-song console soundtrack and 30-track DS Lite setlist. (The game's tiny drum set will not work with the DSi or original DS.) Having previously announced country music star Taylor Swift as the headline act in the console installment, Activision said that gamers can also expect to see the likes of 3 Doors Down and Angels & Airwaves. Likewise, DS Lite gamers can also expect to see the Black Eyed Peas and Duran Duran.
Those who pick up the console editions of Band Hero and Guitar Hero 5 can also expect a measure of interoperability. Activision said today that 69 of the tracks introduced in Guitar Hero 5 can be imported into the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii versions of Band Hero for $5.99 (MSP480, 600 Wii points). Likewise, Guitar Hero 5 gamers can import 61 of Band Hero's tracks upon the game's launch next month for $4.99 (MSP420, 500 Wii points).
Band Hero's full track lineup for the console and DS Lite editions of the game is listed below. A full list of forward-compatible tracks is available through the official Guitar Hero Web site.

I got sick of every single one of these songs when they played them to death on the radio? Why do I want to concentrate on them while I play the game? I'm no masochist.
Garbage. maybe 4-5 songs that id want to play. possible rental for when the girls come over but i wont be caught dead buying this game.
I do see some songs I would like to play (like the adventure, everyrose has its thorn, and honkey tonk woman) but for 60 bucks this game isn't worth buying.
why cant they make it compatible with the DSi? WHY!!! activision has definetly taken the rythym games on a turn for the worse... with DJ hero and now this crap? thank goodness for GH van halen
LOL!!! taylor swift, hillary duff, evanescence, janet jackson, nelly furtado, spice girls.... Now, I know for sure that Activision has some AWFUL taste in music!!!! RB till the end!!!
Apart from Bowie and Gaye, the DS Lite edition has a better setlist--if you can overlook Avril Lavigne and... Okay, maybe it's not that great either. But at least it has No One Knows and Monkey Wrench. 'Course, I can get those by playing Guitar Hero.
Shockingly this has got better songs on it that Guitar Hero 5 did (in most cases). Definitely a rent for me, just so I can play "Let's Dance" which should have been in GH5 rather than "Fame"
bring me to life and oceans avenue cannot save this mainstream pap n how comes the DS gets a better setlist than the home consoles although the only good songs on there have already been on the home consoles
Wait there's this and DJ hero coming out? What makes this game any different from all the other music rhythm games? Man this is just ridculous, i don't get why Activision wants to make so many of these games.
omg im so sick of #*$@ set lists, there no way as good as guitar hero 2-3, metallica. I mean bettles out sold GH 5 what does that say, rock band has way better song even to download. just all the new music games are just putting lam songs on these days
Well, any many people's opinion this game is terrible. I for one actually see this sertlist being quite original. It consists of of mainly songs that are pop/country, with very few actual rock songs. Which is the reason why it doesn't have "Rock" or "Guitar" in its name. Its a good setlist of pop songs, its simply just not appealing to those of you who perfer rock/metal. Its just giving people variety In music. I mean even I get tired of playing games who have the same famous rock artists in it.
There are some great, no AWESOME songs on here. But as a whole its far from a great setlist. BUT SPIN DOCTORS?? YEAH!!!! FINALLY!
Even if I get to play as No Doubt (...should have just joined Shirley Manson to MAKE me want to buy GH5), I really don't think I'll be getting this one. 10-15 songs that I'd play and the rest is bleh. Seriously, Hinder? Godawful song with a godawful voice.
wow i really don't know how to feel right now. There has never been a time when I looked over a setlist and not wanted to play at least one song from it until now...imo this is the worst setlist i've ever seen
@GCwasthebestsys You'll probably love this then, it's hilarious http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/941-Beatles-Rock-Band-and-Guitar-Hero-5
i've just started to ignore all this plastic guitar wave of action. just keep ignoring it guys, in a few years it will be a passing trend. still, you can't knock these companies for milking every penny they can out of fat lazy stupid modern-era boys. i would bet that most middle school girls could beat up most boys of the same age these days. it is sad.
sheesh, what did u all expect? of course they would finally make a pop version. get over it. u either like it or not. that's all. I will at least TRY it before i vilify it.
The Guitar Hero spark ended after GH2. When did the Spice Girls actually had a band playing in their Wannabe song? You know an acutal bass, lead guitar and drums. I thought there was a keyboard and some other.
I think this is kinda cool... going for a pop music game. I just hope they don't start releasing a new Band Hero every 3 months just like they are doing with Guitar Hero. Band Hero should be more DLC oriented. They should learn from their mistakes. We DON'T want to own hundreds of discs to have the complete song catalogue!!!
