Developer DICE says "we love" the franchise, but Battlefield 4 is developer's main focus in 2013.
The Battlefield: Bad Company series is not in active development, developer DICE has revealed on Twitter (via Eurogamer).
"We love the Bad Company series, but don't have it in active development," the studio said. "Battlefield 4 is our main focus for the year."
The most recent entry in the spinoff series was 2010's Battlefield: Bad Company 2, which has sold nearly 6 million units to date.
A Bad Company 3 was spotted on an employee resume more than a year ago.
DICE may not be developing a new Bad Company game, but publisher Electronic Arts has reportedly teamed with Fox for an hour-long action-comedy based on the popular Battlefield spinoff series.
