Aussie PSN Welcome Back offer detailed
Sony outlines how it plans to compensate Aussie gamers for the three-week outage.
Yesterday Sony Computer Entertainment flicked the "on" switch and brought back some of the PlayStation Network's basic features. While a good chunk of the service is still offline, at least PlayStation 3 owners can now log on to the PSN and play games online.
Following on from yesterday's rollout, Sony today announced how its remuneration plan would work. Similar to what those in North America are receiving, Aussies will get to choose two PlayStation 3 games from a list of five games. If you have a PSP account, then you can choose two games out of a list of four choices.
On top of that, existing PSN Plus subscribers will get a bonus 60-day subscription, while everyone else will get 30 free days. If you're a Music Unlimited subscriber, you'll also be granted a free 30-day subscription.
Check out the list below to see exactly which games are on offer for Aussie PlayStation owners, and be sure to read the terms and conditions of the offer over at the PlayStation Blog.
"Two PS3 games from the following list:
LittleBigPlanet
Infamous*
Wipeout HD/Fury
Ratchet and Clank: Quest for Booty
Dead Nation*
For those with PSP accounts, you will also be eligible to download two PSP games from the following list:
LittleBigPlanet PSP
ModNation PSP
Pursuit Force
Killzone Liberation
- 30 days free PlayStation Plus membership for non PS Plus subscribers.
- Existing PlayStation Plus subscribers will be given 60 days free subscription.
- For existing Music Unlimited subscribers, you will be given 30 days free subscription.
- We are working on a Welcome Back offer in PlayStation Home and will share that when it is confirmed."
I live in america, and all we're getting is a free playstation plus trial!
@protaganist20 You're not the only one... I was planing to buy LBP since i got my PS3(years ago). but now is the perfect time i think... FOR FREE! Let's play together when we get it it! My PSN is oFelipeNFo
I think I'll pick Dead Nation and LBP, I think I'm the only person who doesn't have LBP....Can't complain to much about whats on offer, especially if your not a plus member. Be happy that they are compensating us for what for most of us was just a mild inconvenience.
Oi how come we don't get the free movie rental weekend?
w00t own them all already... oh wait... :(
I would have loved to have seen FFVII in there for the nostalgic amongst us, how sweet would it be to go another 100 hrs on arguably the greatest rpg ever
more then 3 weeks...it was 26days almost 4weeks, For a lot of people it was longer. Sony is being generous,They could give us nothing. It's a free service
@SIDEFX: I hope it was sarcasm...
@canadian_sharky Selfish you are. Why dont you be happy and thanks Sony for flicking the switch on again, Appreciate they have and what they done and had to go through..
Good stuff! Things are coming back to normal..Thanks Sony.
I agree with canadian_sharky, they pick old games that people probably already play so they don't waist money cause everybody is buying new games for free.
I am a huge sony fan and i have to say, this offer is LAME! What if i have all of these games except for dead nation, but dont give a crap about zombies? Does it say: thanks for buying our products first. Now go f*** yourself! Seriously disappointed in that "offer". They could have given a bigger list of game.
Thanks Sony!
I have wipeout , infamous , and little big planet.. its good I dont have the last two..
Thanks Sony :) Always wanted Wipeout:) Now... Dead Ratchet and Clank or replaying infamous (sold it)
As an Australian gamer, I wish to express my deepest thanks, and so on...
those stars mean that germans don't get those games for some reason this offer is for AU and most of europe
hmm isnt it the same as earlier....& wht do those stars indicate for infamous & dead nation??
Nice for aussie gamers!
