AU Shippin' Out March 25-29: BioShock Infinite
Explore an airborne metropolis in first-person shooter BioShock Infinite, available for Aussie gamers this week. For those who have a stealthier play style, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time should satisfy.
The long-awaited BioShock Infinite will be seeing release in Australia this week.
The game is set in a chaos-plagued airborne metropolis called Columbia. Gamers assume the role of Booker DeWitt, a former member of the feared Pinkerton National Detective Agency, which was the nation's largest security company in the late 19th century.
The first-person shooter title from Irrational Games has rather large expectations to meet, with one analyst believing it could ship as many as 4.9 million copies.
BioShock Infinite is the third instalment in the BioShock series, following on from 2007's BioShock and 2010’s BioShock 2. Publisher 2K Games has announced the BioShock Infinite Season Pass, which will include three add-on packs for the game.
According to 2K, those who purchase the BioShock Infinite Season Pass will also receive the Early Bird Special Pack, which contains exclusive gear, including a machine gun damage upgrade, a pistol damage upgrade, a gold skin for both weapons, and five infusion bottles that let players increase their health, shield durability, or vigors.
PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita owners will be able to pick up Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time this week. Gamers who purchase the PS3 version will also be able to pick up the PS Vita iteration for free as part of Sony’s cross buy offer. The game follows on from the end of Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves.
Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time is the first core entry in the series developed outside of Sucker Punch Productions, but Sony has tapped a studio familiar with the source material for the project. Sanzaru Games, which contributed to 2010's Sly Collection, is behind Thieves in Time.
Other games out this week include the Battlefield 3: End Game (DLC) and Luigi's Mansion 2. For more details, check out the list below.
