February is set to go off with a bang, courtesy of Capcom, Namco Bandai Games, and Square Enix. One of the bigger releases this week is Resident Evil: Revelations, a game that Nintendo 3DS owners have been eagerly waiting for. Set to piece together what happened between Resident Evil 4 and 5, Revelations sees franchise icons Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine return to take on a new biological threat. Come Thursday, when it's released, Resident Evil: Revelations will be available stand-alone or bundled with the new Nintendo 3DS Circle Pad Pro. The new accessory adds in an additional analog stick for players to use, making for a more home-console-like experience.

Next up is SoulCalibur V, the latest entry in Namco's weapons-focused fighting series. This time around, character creation makes a return, allowing players to customise not only their fighters, but also their weapons and effects. On top of the 20-plus fighters on the roster, Ezio from Assassin's Creed is also a playable character.

The final release for this week is Final Fantasy XIII-2, the direct sequel to 2009's Final Fantasy XIII. Set three years after the events of the first game, FFXIII-2 features some familiar faces but focuses more on Serah, who is the sister of Lightning. FFXIII-2 has been well received by critics, earning praise for its interesting enemy design and heartfelt story.
