AU Shippin' Out February 21-25: de Blob 2
Bulletstorm, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Killzone 3, de Blob 2: This week's going to pound your wallet.
Amidst news last week that saw the Australian video games development industry shrink by more than 50 percent over three years, Melbourne-based studio Blue Tongue is just days away from launching its latest game--de Blob 2. Featuring gameplay similar to the original, de Blob 2 sees players travel around Prisma City trying to bring colour back into the world. On top of the Wii and Nintendo DS, blob is also making its first appearance on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game supports stereoscopic 3D and Move controller support on the PS3.
Another release that originated from Australia this week is the uDraw tablet, which was the brainchild of a THQ Australia employee. Available for the Wii, the uDraw tablet peripheral allows users to draw images with a stylus that appears on their television set. The tablet comes with uDraw Studios in the box, but it will also be launching alongside Pictionary and Dood's Big Adventure.
It's also a big week for shooters, with the release of Killzone 3 and Bulletstorm. The former is exclusive to PlayStation 3 and sees players continue the fight against Helghan forces in a variety of new scenarios, including snow and jungle battlefields. Bulletstorm is a shooter that adds skill shots and points to the equation and has been a collaboration between Epic Games and Painkiller developer, People Can Fly.
