Atari commits Act of War on the Web
Web site for upcoming RTS live; features screenshots, videos, and a developer diary; political thriller scheduled to invade PCs next spring.
Atari today announced that the official Web site for Act of War: Direct Action has gone live. Currently, browsers can visit the Flash-intensive Web site for a glimpse at the storyline, screenshots, and videos. The site is still under construction but will feature a playable demo, fan forums, and various downloads.
The story, penned by New York Times best-selling author Dale Brown, depicts a near-future world in turmoil. The geopolitical thriller sees an energy crisis ravaging the globe, forcing protests and mysterious terrorist attacks on US soil. A secret antiterrorism force is sent out to stop the attacks in various hotspots around the globe, including the streets of San Francisco, Washington DC, and London. Developed by Eugen Systems, Act of War will feature more than 30 missions in the single-player campaign, and it will give gamers command of more than 100 different units across three playable sides. In addition to the campaign mode, players can also have a go at one another in the game's multiplayer mode, or they can duke it out in the single-player skirmish mode. Look for Act of War: Direct Action to hit PCs this coming spring. For more information, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.Subscribe to GameSpot's YouTube Channel
