Among the night-vision goggles, premium DJ controllers, and actually locking lockers, this holiday season's batch of limited-edition bundles is pushing the envelope when it comes to packed-in perks. While other publishers are focusing on high-priced props to pump up preorders, Ubisoft is taking a more tried-and-true approach for its biggest title of the season.

The publisher today announced the Master Assassin's Edition of Assassin's Creed II, an $80 bundle for the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 version of the game that goes on sale alongside the regular version November 17. The package will be exclusive to US GameStop stores and features an 8.5-inch-tall statue of protagonist Ezio, a hardcover art book, bonus disc with a soundtrack and "making of" feature, and two in-game maps.
One of the maps, the Palazzo Medici, was previously announced and will serve as a bonus for all GameStop preorder customers. The second, Santa Maria Dei Frari, will only be available as part of the Master Assassin's Edition of the game. Though the word "maps" is commonly used to describe multiplayer levels, an Ubisoft representative confirmed for GameSpot that the game is single-player, adding, "More details on how the exclusive maps work will be revealed at GamesCom."

i have been dissapointed by the game game, ever since you finish it there is nothing to do. It says there were assassination contracts, pigeon coup and carriage races but none of these are available on the map. Also the fact that you cant use rome as a city is really bad.
The special edition pack is totally awesome but in assassins creed 3 I hope they have like a hidden blade for the special edition
Man I'm so mad. I was about to pre-order that at my GameStop, but my manager told me that they stopped taking pre-orders so I was like oh well. At least I save an extra $20 in my bank lol
I wonder why they decided to crap on PC gamers by not offering any of the extras that the console versions get.
I pre-ordered my game atleast a month ago, but that Gamestop went out of business...i think i am SOL.
the statue is 8.5 inches tall i know you cant preorder the master version anymore, but can you still buy it in the store?

yea the game is not available for pre order anymore on the web sites but i already pre order mine a long time ago tho....and now the guys from ubisoft changed everything now its called assassins creed 2: the black edition its the same thing but waaaaaaay better...i hate gamestop

tude22: Yes, You can change ur pre-order at aytime b4 release. u could switch it to another title if u wish. Got the LE on pre-order myself. The developers are getting a bit out of hand with the LE content of titles recently. Just another way to justify higher game costs i suppose. Anyone else noticed how our premium hits are not 19.99 anymore? 29.99? man, may as well get it used from Gamestop and use the Edge card for added savings. Love the biz. Jeez.
