Assassin's Creed gets official clothing line

Official apparel collection includes cardigans, coats, long-sleeve tshirts; available only in Europe, Asia, and Australia.

Next week, gamers can not only pick up Assassin's Creed III at retail, but they can also dress themselves in clothing based on the franchise. Musterbrand has launched an official Assassin's Creed clothing line, which offers various cardigans, coats, and long- and short-sleeve shirts.

The most expensive offering is the "AC DNA Coat" (at right), which sells for £162, or about $260. Other items included in the virtual marketplace include a "Kingdom Knit Jacket" and an "Ottoman Long Cardigan."

This is not the first time a game franchise has been used to sell clothing. Earlier this year, Square Enix teamed with men's fashion magazine Arena Homme+ for a promotion that saw Final Fantasy characters Lightning, Noel, Snow, Sazh, and Hope modeling Prada attire.

Musterbrand also sells clothing based on the Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Hitman, and Metal Gear Solid franchises.

Assassin's Creed III is due out October 30 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. A PC release will follow on November 20, with a Wii U version that is "exactly the same" as its console cousins is out as a launch title for the system on November 18.

Wow, I just checked the site with the clothing, and those are some disappointingly ugly clothes, apart from the coat maybe.

They mostly look like the sweaters you don't want to get for Christmas, or the general merchandise-shirts, only then overpriced.

Way to not design anything fancy, as opposed to the clothing in the games.

@DamageIncM  lol Thought the same thing when i saw the site.  There was only one that looked remotely like the hooded sweat jacket desmond wears. Over priced garbage,  you could get the same thing for a fraction of the price at a store like walmart.

I'd buy the coat if it didn't have the Assassin's Creed logo on the back, OR if it was less than $150. Also, if they shipped to America.

Wow, is this how people in other countries feel? You know, when there is stuff you can buy but only available in America?

I'm surprised they don't have a signature Assassin's Creed hood with the peak. That is THE design element of the assassin costumes that remains the same. Stick that on a hoodie and you'd sell a ton.

When ACII came out I had a friend who was familiar with the sewing arts attach a peak to a white hoodie of mine. I wore it under a blazer with a red scarf and felt totally boss. A few people even asked about it. Merchandise THAT, Ubisoft!

This isn't milking. This is fine. What is the problem are the on disc day one DLCs while the games are all buggy.

shinspikes

@Gravity_Slave Everyone just seems to want brandings and the sharp hood thing.  They seem very disappointed.  Since it looks clean and if they didn't say it was from assasins creed, I would have thought it was a normal good lookin coat.  Therefore, not nerdish.

@HSV002 Game franchises are brands. Brands aren't worth anything if you don't merchandize them.

HSV002
HSV002

@mlcarter815  Merchandise is only an add on extra, just because you don't merchndise it dosent mean your brand will fail it is just another source of income and a way to advertise.

Basic designs with lots of logo's and pictures. As clothes, they are okay.

But when you stamp something with Assassin's Creed, we expect the real deal.

Nice.  I was looking everywhere for a sweater like Desmond's from AC 2.  Hopefully they put it out.

These clothes are actually decent and not like the ones that have the actual videogame characters on it.  Now those are girl repellent.

@synthetiksin well in the end it depends on who's wearing it. You can be Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp and it's a winner! Or a fat pimple infested smelly jerk... and it's not gonna work..

@DaneGamer Or you can be brad pitt and johnny depp, wear better clothes for the same price and get even more chicks. Sure it's a win-win for us good looking gents, but one win is much sweeter than the other.
