Arcana Heart 3 breaking onto PS3

Aksys Games bringing latest installment in femme-fatale-focused 2D fighter to PlayStation Network this spring; online mode developed by creators of BlazBlue.

Three years ago, North American gamers got their first taste of Examu's Arcana Heart series, as Atlus imported the first installment of the 2D fighter for the PlayStation 2. Soon, Aksys Games will be providing them a second helping of the female-focused fighting franchise, as the publisher confirmed it will be releasing Arcana Heart 3 as a downloadable PlayStation 3 game this spring.

This installment in the series will be a bit more full-featured than the last one to make the jump to the West. Arcana Heart 3 features 23 playable fighters--more than double the total of the original game--and 23 different Arcana spirits to mix and match with them.

The game will include training, story, and score attack modes for players going solo, as well as online multiplayer action courtesy of Arc System Works, developer of the BlazBlue and Guilty Gear series. To help ease fighting game neophytes into the proceedings, Examu is also including a simple control mode that lets players bust out technical combos and special moves with ease.

According to a very helpful PM I received, there will be a UK release on disc. Good news for me because I get to play it, good news for you colonials because you can import the disc version if you want :)

@exedeath, that sounds like a user based problem more than it sounds like a hardware based problem. I've had my PS3 Fat since 2007 and the only issues I've ever had were a couple of instances of over-heating because I didn't have it in well vented spot.

I have to agree with those who are disappointed it's only PSN, but the odds are we wouldn't get it otherwise so.....

Hmph. I suppose a UK release is pretty unlikely, which means once again having to get a PSN card off eBay and hoping my US account doesn't get rumbled.

They should just start releasing all games on the PlayStation network. It is more reliable than their junk blue ray lens, that went out 4 times on me now. Also with PSN games you can split the price 5 ways, and all of your friends can have it too. I will gladly pay 12 dollars for this game.

Came out on consoles last month. A little disappointed for no physical media to add to my game library but that is not a big deal. Can not wait to download it and play.lol
