Teaser image from Rovio suggests partnership with George Lucas' iconic science fiction space series.
The next destination for Rovio's Angry Birds appears to be a galaxy far, far away. Today, Rovio launched a new Tumblr account with an image that depicts what appears to be a bird from the franchise donning a Star Wars-esque robe and wielding a lightsaber.
The teaser page indicates more information on the mystery project will be shared at 8 a.m. on October 8, and specifically called out the Toys R Us location in New York City's Times Square.
If indeed there is an Angry Birds Star Wars game, it won't be the first licensed partnership for the series. Over the summer, Rovio teamed with rock band Green Day for 10-level episode based on the group. Additionally, the company launched Angry Birds Rio, a tie-in for Blue Sky Studios' 2011 animated film Rio.

When I saw this news I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced, but only temporarily, until they had a found a forum in which to complain. I fear something terrible has happened, but at least we have Star Wars 1313 to look forward to, so all hope is not lost.
I hate when I sit on the toilet and only play 1 round of Angry birds because it was a quick release. Protip: Fiber and whole grains. Now you can enjoy prolonged angry bird sessions.

I truly hate so many things that happen in the industry these days. Where everything is about making money. It is just corporate giants that buy up anything of quality so they can milk it since they can't come up with anything good on their own.

I have an android phone so I'll d/l it, won't cost me anything. It's a fun toilet game and lightsabers are always cool...fact(lightsabers were about the only good thing in the prequels). There better be yellow eyed sith pigs though ;p
Might be interested. I like the Angry Bird games. They are simple and pretty much mindless fun. You can play in small doses and it's not very stressful. I might check this out.
I guess this is the game that George Lucas always dreamed of making. It's gonna be the way he wanted it to be in the first place.

So I guess that's how they plan to take over consoles, by releasing the same game over and over again.

3 Like At least the LEGO developers have the decency to change up a few things in each game. Angry Birds is the exact same game every time.
