Platinum Games' third-person brawler coming to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $30 January 8 in North America, January 11 in Europe.
Anarchy Reigns has finally been dated for a Western release. Publisher Sega announced today that the brawler is due in North America on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 for $30 on January 8, 2013. A release will follow in Europe for €29.99 on January 11.
Anarchy Reigns was developed by Platinum Games and released in Japan as Max Anarchy in July, 2012. GameSpot's review praised its gore-filled combat, but lamented its often-repetitive single-player missions and somewhat confusing story.
The game's Western release has been a long time coming. Anarchy Reigns was originally announced as a fall 2011 title, before being pushed to January 2012, and then again to July 3, and once more to later in the month. Its most recent delay came in June, when the game was pushed--unbeknownst to its developer--to 2013.
Anarchy Reigns is a third-person brawler set in a postapocalyptic war zone filled with tsunamis, black holes, and other hazards. The game features online multiplayer using existing characters from the studio's previous title MadWorld, as well as original characters.

Video games are becoming so corny nowadays. Stiff gameplay, no respect for fan loyalty when it comes to the development direction for so many series ("KOEI" most disgracefully and WITHOUT SHAME; CAPCOM somewhat as well). Game companies feel TOO entitled; That we should buy whatever they churn out, at whatever price they want. Support this game and any other reasonably priced SEGA game you might like. Maybe Sega will make a console again, with reasonably priced good games. They'd actually APPRECIATE a 2nd chance to have a console. It's hope beyond hope, but hey, i'm allowed to have that i guess.

It's likely $30 because the game hasn't sold well in Japan, and considering this is one of SEGA's last physical releases they are probably trying to sell as many copes as possible.
So as I have been forced to buy a wii u for bayonetta and I currently just have a gaming pc are their any chances of me gettign to experience this game. Plat games has become one of my top favorite developers and I really don't want to miss this one.
I would love to see a new branch of games at $30. This way we could see more SP only games being released because more people are willing to give $30 for a SP only game.
I wont buy it until they release bayonetta 2 for the ps3 or xbox 360. first capcom screws dmc now bayonetta is exclusive. Whats next nomura cancels vsXIII or it becomes the new duke nukem forever
@lil_jon86 It was Sega's decision. They decided against Bayo on other consoles and because of that happened what happened. But I gonna support Platinum, so they have more money for publishing. Believe me, it's in their best interests to have enough money for multiplatforing
1 Like @lil_jon86 I'm just as sour as you are about Bayonetta being Wii U exclusive but you should understand that it isn't completely Platinum's fault, Nintendo was the only publisher to step up and fund it (so I hear) so if anything, be frustrated at all the other stupid publishers for not taking up Platinum's offer.

You SHOULD buy this, the original Bayonetta, Vanquish and Metal Gear Rising for your PS3/360 so that they see how much better their sales figures are on those platforms than they are on the WiiU. Not supporting the games they DO release for your console of choice isn't an effective way of telling them they should support it more.

4 Like Half a year to release a game that's already completely in English. I'd be interested to know Sega's thought process regarding this entire matter.
The price point on it is low because it didn't sell in japan. I imported a copy and i love it. The online is great if you can get a match in. With the western release it will be much easier to get into matches though.

I really, really, really want this game.
It reminds me of the fun I had with Phantom Dust online last gen, I hope it lives up! :P
3 Like Crap... $30?! They really want this to sell. Sort of wished I hadn't imported it back in July now. Oh well, it's still awesome!
This game was reviewed months before its Western release? I have not see this for a long time.

Thing is they could have released the game earlier, with no competition at all.
@alex33x It and Colonial Marines will be the final 2 published SEGA 3rd party physical releases.
