Western release of Platinum Games action title "re-evaluated" by Sega with no reason given; Japanese launch still set for July 5.
The forces of law and order can sleep soundly this summer, as Sega confirmed that the Western release of Anarchy Reigns has been delayed yet again, this time to the first quarter of 2013. Sega posted on its official Twitter feed that "the release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated," marking the fourth delay for the Platinum Games-developed title.
Anarchy Reigns is a third-person brawler set in a postapocalyptic war zone filled with tsunamis, black holes, and other hazards. The game will feature online multiplayer using existing characters from the studio's previous title MadWorld, as well as original characters.

As the years go by, and my satisfaction with Sega becomes less and less, I realize that I know know how my parents felt with the decline of Sears. It's hard watching a company you once supported because of their excellent service/services go downhill.
SEGA is well-known at this point for ignoring the pleas of the West (PSO, anyone?). And then they wonder why their reputation means nada, and they're going broke.
this game is DOA anyways. It's far too niche of a title to make ANY kind of impact for SEGA sales wise and without any kind of local multiplayer the game will literally be useless within 3 weeks of launch since no one is gonna buy this in the west and it's a fighting game that's online only (how does that make any sense?)
They've said the games pretty much done, but they still delay it. I was so hyped for this game, but it's starting to get annoying seeing delay after delay for it. I wouldn't mind if they were going to add new character such as SAM from Vanquish, but when the game is done, why can't you just release it. In 2013 some brilliant games are coming out. I'm expecting no flaws with this game, it's had enough time to be perfect.
HAHA Sega just shot themselves in the foot, delaying a game to 2013 when a few heavy hitters are coming out, probably should of stuck to that July release date but w/e.
Why release it in July 2012, with no competition, when they could release it near a whole bunch of AAA blockbusters?! Makes perfect sense. Maybe this is like "The Producers," and they want this game to fail on purpose?
Not a good idea Sega. Too many games I want are releasing that year. Last of Us, Tomb Raider, Bioshock infinite, Watch Dogs and many more. I am sure your title will fall in the cracks to me.
To all those people getting angry about the delay, have to remember that Sega is in trouble and Platnium Games' previous titles have bombed outside of Japan. The people to blame are the gamers who don't buy the quality titles that Platnium produces and instead buy millions of copies of trash like Duke Nukem Forever and Operation Raccoon City.
@robertwarnes91 I am not angry, but it bombed because they release those tittles at a bad time. People don't want them doing it again. If anything people are trying to help.
@robertwarnes91 No biggie. Platinum games are really good. i don't want them to fail. One of my favorites games on Wii was Madworld. Which indeed did bombed. It is really a shame. Games fail in sales for good development teams.
@ExplicitMikeI jusrt checked the sales. Sorry it didn't bomb, my mistake. I just assume it didn't sell well because it was in bargain bins everywhere within a month or two. Maybe it sold really bad in Australia, but did better else where.
It doesn't look so good to begin with, just you're typical over the top japanese action thingy, all the charakters seem kinda played out, so I'm not cryin over that one.
SEGA are you kidding? The game is finished and there are no big games coming out in the summer, but you decide to release the game when big name games that got delayed are releasing?
This seems like a really stupid move on SEGA's part, but hell at least importing is a viable option.
