$40 Ultimate Edition for Nintendo's newest console includes four on-disc expansions.
Activision and Marvel Entertainment announced today that The Amazing Spider-Man Ultimate Edition will arrive for Wii U on March 5 in North America, followed by a March 8 launch in Europe. All other versions launched last year.
The Wii U version of The Amazing Spider-Man will be available at launch for $40 and includes four on-disc expansions. These are the Stan Lee Adventure Pack, the Lizard Rampage Pack, the Rhino Challenge, and the Oscorp Search and Destroy Pack.
In addition, The Amazing Spider-Man for Wii U uses the GamePad as an "Oscorp OsPhone," allowing players to access Spider-Man's in-game cell phone to accept new challenges, navigate the city, and manage upgrades. The game also supports off-screen play.
An epilogue to the film of the same name (which hit theaters last July), The Amazing Spider-Man allows players to freely explore Manhattan as the friendly neighborhood superhero and thwart the sinister plans of "a variety of criminals" in a story penned by Seamus Kevin Fahey (Battlestar Galactica).

the original spiderman the movie game on playstation 2 allowed you to play as green goblin aswell as spiderman maybe you should have more of that style for these spiderman games, i loved using green goblin
The only thing going for this is that the Wii U has no games coming out to compete with it, really. Anyone who missed it on the PS3 or 360 may as well go for it. It's more fun that seems, and collecting the comics is surprisingly addictive (because it rewards you with digital issues to read in the extras).
I had alot of fun with TASM on the my PS3, to me the web swinging was better then spider man 2 and Ultimate spider man cant wait for a Next gen spider man game. !
I like the Wii U, and this game was alot of fun on Xbox360. So I think that I may get this game too to build my collection of Wii U and to see what the gamepad screen does.
This certainly won't help the sales for the console. Don't get me wrong I don't want to see any of them fail, but I have a feeling someone is going to lose money here.
40 bucks isn't really anything, that's just me skipping some nights out, staying home and game. Didn't get this for the PS3 or PC, so it would be a nice purchase.
how does Amazing Spider-Man compare to the Spider-Man 2 and 3 games?
I sort of liked 3, despite the deformed-looking character faces, and Mary Jane's "swing me higher! now swing really close to the ground! swing really fast!" date missions

Yes finally games are $40 bucks brand new and just released!!! Oh wait maybe because it was released last year and I've already beaten it.. Nah not work my $40 bucks.. I dun care about DLC... Except maybe for Fighting games...
@ZexionLuv And what about games that have DLC that actually add 5 + hours to the story? Or DLC like in games like Burnout which completely redo the world and add in massive new areas and islands?
@DarksjeiK wrong, wiiu has a total of over 60 games out or in development, over 20 are out includes eshop ,
and i know cause i have exactly 20 and theres still 5 more i want from launch lol
@Sevenizz well its a decent game & its coming in a few weeks, better than Nintendo's announcement -> there's games coming, we're working on it, its coming in future, keep waiting. :p NFS:Most Wanted is also coming to WiiU :)
I've been wanting to get this. Now I have to weigh between this or Steam. Being able to play on the Gamepad is a mighty enticing deal though.
This is what I like to hear. Even though this game is a year old. It's nice it's being ported to the new Nintendo console. I would like to see some other titles being ported over, to give the Nintendo fans more of a collection to their library of games.
I'm gonna give you haters a meaty tip; swing by an old navy- most of them have some sort of entertainment for kids and husbands while their wives and moms shop. In 3 of the 4 I've been to in southern ca, that entertainment has been a WII U. It's not a bad system- kinda fun actually. Anyway, thought if you were going to talk S*it you might like to actually touch the system you're talking about.
@adamrich81 i played it its nothing to right home about and now here you find another port that is doing nothing with the wiiu control gimmick
@emptycow @adamrich81 Exactly how is the Gamepad a gimmick? It has a HD screen and a standard control setup!
If you want to see a gimmick and the death of a brand just wait til the 20th!
@IAMTYLERDURDEN @Bl4KD37H The Playstation brand is in last chance saloon and im sure the 3 million *snigger* Vita owners agree with you it's better than 3DS!
@Bl4KD37H So it doesn't suck because it slightly better than their last sucky specs?
@Bl4KD37H Playstation brand will never die and the Vita is a better system then the 3ds. There I said it!
@96augment @wcwj26 What's it going to offer that the PS3 hasn't already got beyond a slightly better GPU?
Microsoft have the 3rd party stitched up, superior online capabilities and PS IP's get mediocre fanfare from the gaming community.
I can't see Sony joining Nintendo and Microsoft for the 9th generation, most people already own a CD/DVD/Blu Ray player now!
@wcwj26 nah you just have to look at the touchpads on the vita to see a gimmick and the death of a console
Not that's just going too far.
@wcwj26 Playstation is going to die on 20th? Really?
The Ps3 has a gyroscope based bluetooth controller. How many games actually made use of this Gyroscope gimmick? Any argument can be made against a single feature of a controller.
The Wii U's gamepad has the ability to give off tv screen display, which this game is using (maps, calls, quests, gear etc, and to even remote display the tv too) which is using the gimmick controller. If it wasn't using the Gamepad at all, it would just sit with a blank screen as you play your console games.
Try understand what the features of the console/controllers are before calling it a gimmick.
