Sounds like an interesting idea if they support it properly and it doesnt turn into crap like the Xbox live indie section......
@IanNottinghamX Well speaking that Steam has a huge indie selection i dont think that is a issue.
Not to mention we have the greenlight feature.People pay a small fee and their game idea,videos,concepts, and such are submitted to greenlight. Then we as the community gets to check it out and possibly approve it.
With enough approvals(there is a certain number that escapes me at the time) they are greenlit.Once lit all they have to do is send the final version to steam and it goes on sale on steam from there on.
There is so many interesting and inventive games to see there, you should check it out.
Personally i couldn't help but get a certain samurai sandbox game upvoted.Multiplayer too.
