Ace Attorney 5 in session for 3DS

No release date has been set for the new sequel to the Ace Attorney series.
Capcom has announced the next game in line for the Ace Attorney series of adventure games.
According to Japanese magazine Famitsu (via Andriasang), the official title in Japan is Gyakuten Saiban (or Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney 5) and will feature series mainstay Phoenix Wright as the main character. The game's story takes place one year after the events of Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney.
The new adventure game will feature a new partner for Wright; a yet-to-be-named girl dressed in yellow and wearing a black glove on her right hand and a moon earring on her right ear. New features in the game include 3D character models during courtroom cases and the ability to display different facial expressions while interrogating witnesses during testimonies. Apart from that, the magazine coverage hinted at the new girl's glove and earring that can turn the tides of the courtroom battle.
Capcom said that a demo of the game will be playable at this year's Tokyo Game Show. The 15-minute demo will feature the first case in the game where Phoenix Wright's client is a high-school girl who can go into fits of hysteria at any time. The prosecutor for the case will be the brother of series' minor adversary Winston Payne.
Series creator Shu Takumi will not be involved in Ace Attorney 5 because he is currently busy finishing up the crossover 3DS title Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney. Instead, the game's producer will be Motohide Eshiro (Okamiden), who will be joined by scenario director Go Yamazaki and composer Noriyuki Iwadare (Ace Attorney Investigations).
On a related note, Professor Layton vs. Ace Attorney is scheduled for a 2012 release. Ace Attorney 5 will be released for the Nintendo 3DS; there is no release date slated for the game.

Now if only you're lazy/cheap asses would just localize and release Ace Attorney Investigations 2......then *maybe* you'd be back on the path of being a favorite company of mines again. But this is a good start, I suppose. ^_^
(...of course, full 'good graces' status won't be completely achieved until 'true' sequel release to the REAL DMC series and/or revival of Onimusha franchise.....just throwin' that out there.)

not sure if i can get behind an ace attorney that isn't written by Shu Takumi, I wish it the best but I guess only time will tell if they can do a good job without him.

Looks like I've finally decided what system to buy with my birthday money. I didn't think anything would make me want a 3DS XL.
Awesome awesome awesome. Unfortunately, even though I live in Japan and know some Japanese I don't think I'll ever know enough to be able to play it in the original language satisfactorily, so I need a localized version too. I would definitely buy a 3DS for this, though.
I don't like the idea that Takumi isn't involved with AA5.
It better get localized either way.

@maximumbarmage Yeah, while that does suck. At least w/ it being a true sequel in the AA series I'd like to think Capcom is gonna make good w/ localizing it. They've already still pissed off western fans by not doing AAI2, the least they could do to make up for that BS would be to give us a western release too. It'd honestly be incredibly stupid not to.....
2 Like This would make it the first Ace Attorney for the 3DS. I just hope that this game will continue the quality of the previous games.
