Dark Souls is lighting up retailers. From Software and Namco Bandai today announced that the spiritual successor to 2009's Demon's Souls has shipped 1.5 million units worldwide after launching about a month ago, reports Andriasang.
North America led shipment numbers at 620,000 units, with Europe and Japan accounting for 470,000 and 370,000 units, respectively. These numbers represent total shipments across the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
Set in a dark fantasy world complete with dungeons, Dark Souls features a variety of outdoor areas that are seamlessly connected to one another. The game also features an iteration on Demon's Souls distinctive approach to multiplayer, with various new tweaks allowing players to help or hinder each other's progression.
