Capcom has tapped Ninja Theory to take the Devil May Cry franchise in a radical new direction later this year. However, it appears as if DMC isn't the only in-development project featuring the series' familiar faces.

Today, Capcom put out a call for fan-art submissions in commemoration of Devil May Cry's 10th anniversary. As part of that announcement, Capcom said that it would be featuring winning fan-art entries in a new, as-yet-unannounced game.

"Think about all the iconic characters from Dante, Nero, Vergil, Trish, and Lady and all the fantastic weapons they have wielded," Capcom said of the fan-art contest. "Think of the bosses and many battles Dante has had to cleave his way through. And most of all, think of the style that all this has been done in, from Dante’s cockiness to Sparda's impeccable honor!"

Unfortunately, Capcom offered no additional details on the game project. And while a new installment in the Devil May Cry series is the most obvious conclusion, it is worth noting that the franchise's characters aren't exclusive to that series. Namely, Dante was a playable character in the PlayStation 2 version of Viewtiful Joe, as well as Capcom's cross-over fighter Marvel vs. Capcom 3, which was released in February.

For those interested in participating in Capcom's 10th anniversary Devil May Cry art contest, submissions are due by July 29. More details can be found on the Capcom-Unity blog.
