Gamers interested in the import role-playing game scene will do well to keep watch on an upcoming title from publisher Furyu. The publisher of Last Bullet and Tsuku Monogatari will be releasing a Nintendo 3DS and PSP RPG called UnchainBlades ReXX for later in 2011.

Famitsu states in its announcement (translated via Siliconera) that Furyu has brought in Takashi Hino as the scenario designer, Toshio Akashi as the director, and Nobuo Uematsu as the music composer for the project. Takashi Hino was known for being the project supervisor for Grandia II, while Toshio Akashi was the visual director, sound supervisor, and screenplay writer for Lunar: Eternal Blue. Nobuo Uematsu is known for composing music for the Final Fantasy series.

Artists brought in to create the different characters in the game include Kazushi Hagiwara (artist for the manga Bastard!!), Shinichiro Otsuka (artist for the Summon Night series), Toshiyuki Kubooka (artist for the Lunar series), Haruyuki Morisawa (artist for Dream Club), and Pako (artist for the recent Shining series). Said artists will be designing each of the major characters individually for the game.

The game itself is described in Famitsu as the "ultimate 3D dungeon RPG." Players will guide a main character named Fang through a living dungeon called Titan. The combat system will be turn-based and will introduce the Unchain System where up to 20 characters will take part in a battle simultaneously. Players will control four main characters, with each of them able to take control of five monsters dubbed as "followers," and can even activate special link attacks.

UnchainBlades ReXX will be out on June 23 for both the 3DS and the PSP. Furyu will be adding in a DVD with character voices, artwork, and an original voice drama as a preorder bonus.
