Namco Bandai scored critical success with Ninja Theory's all-new action adventure Enslaved: Odyssey to the West, and that experience will soon be extended for fans of the game. Today, the publisher announced that the game's first piece of downloadable content, Pigsy's Perfect 10, would be released later this year alongside an option to play the original game and the new add-on in 3D.

The DLC tells a side story to the main events in the game, one that is focused on technical wunderkind Trip's corpulent friend, Pigsy. In it, Pigsy sets out to build himself a perfect companion using scrap parts he is able to salvage around the Titan Graveyard area.

As Pigsy's physical prowess is far different from that of main-game protagonist Monkey, Namco Bandai is promising a largely different play experience. Namely, the add-on focuses largely on stealth and sniper gunplay, as well as tech-heavy tools, such as explosives and other devices.

The add-on will also update the game with TriOviz for Games Technology, which confers stereoscopic 3D graphics to the core game and the Pigsy's Perfect 10 add-on. However, gamers will still need a 3D-capable television with accompanying glasses to experience the content. Those with 2D HDTV sets can also experience the content, should they purchase TriOviz's proprietary 3D glasses, which will be available later this year.

Namco Bandai did not offer a specific release window for the Pigsy's Perfect 10 add-on, saying only that it will be available for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year. It will cost $10 (800 Microsoft points).
