Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock setlist confirmed

Activision confirms leaked 93-song lineup for upcoming music game; artists range from Aerosmith to ZZ Top.

Activision has two music games on its plate for this fall: Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and DJ Hero 2. And while the turntable game doesn't have a firm release date or a complete tracklist yet, the plastic instrument band game now has both.

When Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock ships September 28 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Nintendo Wii, it'll come with one of the largest on-disc offerings of any music game to date. The game will ship with 93 tracks and will have more than 500 tunes to download from the Guitar Hero Music Store on day one.

Of note, Rush's seven-part rock suite "2012" will be featured in the game, and those who pick up one of the first copies of the game will receive Soundgarden's Telephantasm in CD form bundled with the game.

Most of these songs i have download already for ROCKBAND 3 and i seem to be less impressed each year with the guitar-hero franchise since the day Harmonix left guitar-hero to make a better guitar game and signing a deal with MTV and EA and more than Thousand songs on the market place unlike activision

Just like Rock Band 3, there are some awesome songs, but there are even more songs I don't even wanna hear on the radio much less play them on GH.

In my opinion this is the greatest set list that wasn't based on one band since Guitar Hero 3. I will defiantly get this over RB3 the set list for this is allot better

I wasn't that impressed with this setlist.... then I looked at the RB3 setlist... even though I prefer Rockband.. I gotta say I like this setlist a lot more and it looks even better now lol.

The only band who could get me as excited as Metallica is Iron Maiden. Now that would've been an awesome Guitar Hero.

They should honestly add some more international songs in here. A choice song by Sabaton would be most beneficial. They are a highly-acclaimed metal band that is highly ranked in Europe and is among the top band list in Sweden. If they added a song or two from them in the set list, then Guitar Hero would gain many new players.

I'm a devotee of Dragonforce and I'm wondering to myself...Why Fury of the Storm? There are certainly much better songs than this made by Dragonforce. Heroes of Our Time? Last Journey Home? Heart of a Dragon? Strike of the Ninja?

The reason why I'm criticizing Fury of the Storm is, I'm seriously thinking that it won't be a fun song to play. Disregarding difficulty, there is seriously at least a 50 second repetition of the same strings of notes in the instrumental section. Do gamers want to play the same notes on and on and on? NO.

So they need to seriously change their line up of songs, at least by a little bit. Revise the choice Dragonforce song, add some international content, bring out the joys of the many genres of Rock n' Roll.

As much as I don't like the GH series after Harmonix left, I've gotta say that this set list is better than RB3's.
There are most songs that have already been available through RB DLC, but there are some songs that I wish were on RB3 already...

This is the only good thing about this game. I bought GH:WT cheap just to play some songs that weren't on RB and it's just been collecting dust I only played it like, 4-5 times. I'm not going to make the same mistake again. lol Besides, RB3 is taking it to the next level(with closer to the real instruments game play/peripherals), as to where this game is still pretty much the same.
The only thing I can hope for is that some of these will come out as DLC for RB3...

Dang, the site moderators are on top of things.....But anywayz, GH:WoR will blow RB3 out of the water just based on the two setlists....period

Man I kinda wish I could combine the games and take songs I like from both there's songs on both games that I like but there's things about each game I like. I like Rock Band's graphics and stage presents better but I like Guitar Heroes difficulty most likely I'll end up skipping them both because of work though

A Perfect Circle? It's not Tool, but I'll take it. I'm a little surprised they'd allow it to be used.

@Ashman555 ""Rb still beats gh every time, rb is always developing new things for their game such as the keyboard, pro drums and even being able to use a real guitar. This is the same old crap since GH3"" ---------------------
Putting a keyboard in a game like RB is just a money maker, which songs do you like use a piano/keyboard? Pro drums? It's mostly other companies that make those drums and promote there products through youtube users videos. I have never seen someone use a Real guitar in RB or heard of it, If you could i would be using mine. I think this setlist is 100% better then Rb's.

"The Day We Fight - MegaDeth.) i am noticing typos throughout gamespots articles. (This Day We Fight) Oh well, no big deal.

@GC4ever I agree but i also thought Gh-M had a great one, unless you don't like metal music.

Domo are you serious? Only one I see is Paranoid and Aqualung.

Man had GH installed the Keyboard peripheral everybody would be coming here. Only song I like from RB3 is Beast and the Harlot, Crazy Train, and Misery Business, but GH had RB beaten with those a LONG time ago. Definitely getting this game. Plus more songs equal worth the the game.

Im gonna hold my hands up here and say that this time, GH has put out a fantastic set list. Compared to the apparent full RB3 setlist that has just been revealed I think its fair to say that GH is really going to rival RB3 this year. Looks like I have to bite the bullet and give activision more of my money as to miss this installment would be sinful

IMO GH and Rock Band have done a massive switcheroo, RB3 is full of songs that are popular but will be probably be a snoozefest to actually play like most of GH5 was, and this is full of great rock and metal like RB2 was.

  • givetoandy

    Posted Aug 19, 2010 4:43 am GMT

I love Rush, so this is tempting but I'm not a big fan of the Guitar Hero franchise. Yeah yeah, my loyalty lies with Rock Band, and I can't wait for RB3. Still, snagging the complete 2112 has me with mixed feelings on this. I like getting the new Soundgarden bundled. But I still scratch my head when The Cure became rock warriors...

It may not be the best set list but I am actually just looking forward to playing some new songs. I am looking forward to both Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Rock Band 3. Although not excited about the keyboard in Rock Band I am interested to see what they continue to do with the instruments.

  • XanderKage

    @ _Treize_

Honestly, I don't care about either game that much. But keyboards? This may be the metalhead in me talking, but that is not a good direction to take in terms of "ROCK band".
Sure, there are some of good bands that use keyboards - Dream Theater in on my Top 5 list. But if RB3's setlist will consist mostly of those good bands, as opposed to crappy somethings that can hardly called "rock", I will email you a huge apology.
