Aion: Assault on Balaurea invades Sept. 7
Massively multiplayer online game gets major update in early September; free content ups level cap to 55, adds new zones, instances, skills, weapons, and streamlined flight mechanic.
NCsoft will release the first substantial content update to its massively multiplayer online role-playing game, Aion, during the first week of September. The publisher sent word today that update 2.0, now known as Assault on Balaurea, will arrive September 7.
The content will be released as a free download on PCs in North America and Europe on September 7. Additionally, NCsoft will be releasing a new retail version of Aion with exclusive in-game pets the same day in North America and September 10 in Europe.
Assault on Balaurea ups the game's level cap from 50 to 55, adds new weapons and items to collect, as well as two new zones and instances to explore. Additionally, the content adds pets, both for vanity and functions like carrying items, and allows players to sky-travel more easily through a new wind-stream mechanic.
