Ludacris, Run DMC join Def Jam Rapstar

4mm Games reveals another batch of artists for hip-hop rhythm game; A Tribe Called Quest, Onyx, LL Cool J also contributing hits.

The Def Jam Rapstar tracklist is starting to take shape. Developers 4mm Games and Terminal Reality today announced another batch of hip-hop hits that will appear in the karaoke rhythm game when it launches this fall.

The new additions include a number of slightly dated signature tracks from some hip-hop heavy hitters, including A Tribe Called Quest's "Scenario," LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out," Run DMC's "Run's House," and Onyx's "Slam."

As for more recent fare, 4mm confirmed that Def Jam Rapstar will feature Ludacris' "Stand Up," Jim Jones' "We Fly High," and in the UK only, Chipmunk's "Chip Diddy Chip." Two new producer tracks were also revealed today, with Cool & Dre's "Epidemic" and DJ Khalil's "The Good Doctor" slated for inclusion in the game.

Def Jam Rapstar will let aspiring emcees sing along with more than 40 hip-hop tracks and record and share the results with an online community. The game also features a Freestyle mode, in which gamers can drop their own rhymes over tracks laid down by a variety of hip-hop producers.

Def Jam Rapstar is set to arrive for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii in North America on October 5, with a European debut confirmed for November 5. For more on the game, check out GameSpot's previous coverage.

"Scenario" just guaranteed this game a rental @ least... No batteries included, and no strings attached!

They usually are but but Slam isn't really one of their fast tracks IMO one of their best though.

I thought it was bad enough that we always got updates whenever a new song would show up on a Guitar Hero or Rockband line-up, and now we're getting it for this

Without the addition of true old school classics I wouldn't even bother with this game seeing as how the majority of it is wasted on largely worthless and forgettable contemporary "hip pop" rather than boogie down boom bap hip hop. The real hip hoppers know whst I'm talking abot.

I never knew there was someone named Ludcaris in the rap game. Must be trying to copy Ludacris.

Either that or the title of this article is misspelled

I think the only good thing about this is being able to drop rhymes for the world to share.
I believe that if you can rate people rhymes/freestyles, someone high profile will notice them.
