Madden NFL 11: Team Ratings Revealed

From the Saints to the Rams, check out the ratings for all 32 teams in EA Sports’ upcoming football game.

The Madden NFL 11 machine keeps on rolling. Earlier this week, EA Sports unveiled a new online scouting feature, which will allow players to learn about their opponent's tendencies before an online game begins. With the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo just around the corner, it's time for yet another reveal for the biggest football game in the land: Today we've got the exclusive scoop on the team ratings for all 32 teams as they'll appear in Madden NFL 11 when the game ships on August 10. First up, is the full list from best to worst.

Rank Team Madden 11 Madden 10 Change
1 New Orleans Saints 92 94 -2

29 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 69 67 +2
30 Detroit Lions 68 66 +2
31 Buffalo Bills 67 71 -4
32 St. Louis Rams 66 65 +1

The biggest winner on the list is obviously the Washington Redskins, who will benefit in Madden NFL 11, thanks to the addition of new quarterback Donovan McNabb, among other players. On the other end of the spectrum, the biggest loser is the Arizona Cardinals, who look to suffer in a big way, thanks to the retirement of quarterback Kurt Warner and the loss of wideout Anquan Boldin to the Ravens.

Here's the full list, organized by division:

One other surprise? The Oakland Raiders--despite dumping all-time draft bust JaMarcus Russell and adding former Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell to the fold--remain at a 71 overall.

Earlier this week, Homer Rabara and I had a chance to chat with EA Sports' Donny Moore via Skype about the team ratings in Madden NFL 11. Check the video out here:

Brian Ekberg and Homer Rabara are joined by Madden ratings czar Donny Moore to discuss the team ratings in Madden NFL 11.

Thank you Madden Gods for giving Tampa Bay +2 for a total of 69 this year. I am truly not complaining, I wanted a better rating so when I beat people with them they might look at the ratings (as most online rookies do) and just say the team is getting better that's why. Remember boys and girls, it's not the team, it's the scheme.

Albert Haynesworth dropped from 99 in Madden 10 to 86 this year. Shows just how worthless he is to the 'skins. They need to get rid of him. He makes $7440 an hour. Maybe we'll do something this year since we have a decent qb. or at least do better then 4-12. With Zorn in Baltimore now and Shanahan as head coach im confident we'll be contenders this year.

-8 for the Cardinals? A little harsh, but hey, this team is always looked down to, can't wait for them to prove them all wrong again. Come on Leinart, its all up to you!!

@trm989 cry more? Did you honestly just say that? So someone says one thing against the majority opinion and they are crying? Grow up little boy. Yes the Saints won the superbowl. No they are not the best team in the NFL. God forbid I want them to rate teams on actual player skill. @SPARTAN_D7 I never said that you said that. All I mean is, the Vikings have a better team than the Packers if you take the QBs out of the equation. Rodgers is not bad, but he is still not Favre. Which is why if Favre comes back, I don't see how the Vikings can loose the division to the Packers when they have a better team and a better QB.

Jets are a very solid team this year and would have done way better last year if not plague with injuries.

  • lapman17

    Posted Jun 7, 2010 9:03 am GMT

Anyone that knows anything about football would agree with the Jets being #4...I actually think they are better than that this year. Many Many Many good additions to an already sick defense. Cromardie now playing opposite Reavis...best secondary in the NFL right now. Tomlinson and Shaun Green in the backfield....I guess you don't watch much football, the Jets have had the best offseason than any other NFL team, def the most active.

  • vorhesse

    Posted Jun 7, 2010 8:31 am GMT

total crap, how are the freaking jets ranked #4? Anyone that knows something about football knows they skated into the playoffs because there schudual and bengals in the top 10, these guys are kidding right?

  • XchrisisdeadX

    Posted Jun 7, 2010 7:31 am GMT

the texans went down because dunta robinson is no longer there, which is a big hit to the texans. saints lost some players on defense. they also let you adjust the player ratings anyway,so you can change your team's rating, or teams that are overrated (cough! patriots!) so if you don't agree with them change them or just play backbreaker if you hate EA so much.

and online cheese is never gonna change, it's in every game online, so expecting a fair game online is a pipe dream, just play your friends or people who you know play fair.

Why did the saints go down from a 94 to a 92 if they won the super bowl?

Best thing about being a Cardinals fan is everyone always counts us out before the season begins and then we always surpass expectations.
Warner helped us shock the world and I'm praying Leinart can help us shock them again.

    @Scienceray

not everyone uses xbox live buddy boy. i refuse to pay for online play.

if what you're saying is correct then change the damned collumn to "Madden 10.9", but those ratings do not match Madden 10 when it came out without the stupid "updates"

Dolphins should be at least at 80 with the moves they made in the offseason... but whatever, it's only Madden

As do the Ravens fans. Hey, you never know--this could be your year...

    /sarcasm/joking aside

I also believe a few teams got stiffed (again). One being the Texans: they are better than a 78. 80+. Then again, you can't measure intangibles.

    Glad we're a 91.

*Although, I never cared for their rating systems.

  • ginop73

the ratings don't matter much, specially if you play franchise cause you always sign free agents or trade and draft, so the rating will change

  • xXTHeEddYXx

    Posted Jun 6, 2010 9:59 am GMT

I feel like they're trying to close the gap between the worst and best teams.

  • Scienceray

    Posted Jun 6, 2010 9:56 am GMT

@lucas182 you must live under a rock or the dumbest human being there is.... but the saints are a 94. if you update your roster you know the reason why there is a internet connection to your 360/ps3. bet you didnt know that lmfao

  • XchrisisdeadX

    Posted Jun 6, 2010 7:13 am GMT

it's pre season ratings..they always change, and it's not the team..it's player. I've whupped on people using the pats with the rams before, it's all in how you play.and i think the Giants didn't drop because EA recognized half their starting D was injured for near half the season.

Da_Skull_King is right oo, The Texans are a steadily rising team, I think Donny Moore is a moron in my opinion. Bengals an 86? come on man! Baltimore wins that division easily

I can understand the Eagles overall would drop because McNabbs gone but 86 to 80? Thats rediculous, I see them as at least an 84 and the Falcons are an 83? Where does he come up with this stuff?

  • bleedgreen2-1-5

    Posted Jun 5, 2010 11:01 pm GMT

    biskutsngravee
Your absolutley right man, it does come down to who knows cheap plays. Its because of that reason that i dont even play online that much anymore, especially when everyone chooses the cowboys vikings and saints and runs hurry up offense all day or throws unstoppable screens, or even rolls out the pocket until the TE's route is over and the run back towards the qb and get the ball wide open.

Every year Madden fools us all. Imagine there is only one water supply in your town or city. and the charge $60 a cup, when you get that cup its filled with dirty hot water. Thats the perfect analogy for what EA has done to us since Madden came to the PS3 and 360
    Peace! Go Eagles!

Niners swept the cardinals last year now they have a solid line and better secondary, the cardinals lost a lot more than warner and boldin... basically their whole defense besides adrian wilson, no way should the cardinals be even with the niners they should be down at the seahawks lvl. And Madden needs to change their game or lower their prices... and john madden hasn't even announced in the last few years why even call it madden it anymore. Oh and %$#& the pats and sorry giants fans but your rating should have gone down a lot more with the way your defense has been playin

  • SteelCurtainX

    Posted Jun 5, 2010 5:49 pm GMT

I disagree with just about every rating change this year.

Except for the Rams. The Rams can stay down at the bottom. (nyuk nyuk)

  • Da_Skull_King

also how can you reduce the texans rating even though they had their first winning season?

why do they keep underrating the packers

  • SPARTAN_D7

    Posted Jun 5, 2010 4:59 pm GMT

@ACx7 I never said ARod would be Favre did I? You must have read something else. I said him and the Packers would be over the Favre fallout that hampered the team last year. ARod is already one of the best QB's in the league and he still has a lot of developing to do. Comparing him to Favre however is just stupid. Trust me, It will be tight but the Pack WILL come out on top.

The Bills ranked lower than the Lions? Wow, I have seen everything.Honestly, they should just remove the Lions and Rams from the NFL. All they do is play in empty stadiums and let me add a W in my W-L column. But the Vikes at #5? Grrrr.... its on Chilly Willy! Hopefully the traitor (arrghhh... can't even say his name) breaks his femur, and then NFC North will be ours again.... *sigh*

a 2 year old could have come up with those ratings.

"ok guys, lets start with a 92 Ceiling. Now lets look back at the 2010 final standings and subtract 1 from every team according to its position"

    want some help, ea?
