Deus Ex: Human Revolution taking up arms early 2011

Eidos Montreal's cyperpunk action-RPG sequel gets a release window, extended trailer for E3.

The Deus Ex series has been dormant since 2003's Deus Ex: Invisible War came out, but the series is finally ready to emerge from hibernation. In a trailer released today for Deus Ex: Human Revolution (see below), Square Enix revealed that the game has been set for an early 2011 launch window.

The third installment in the series, Human Revolution will return to the franchise's roots in a number of ways. The game's story will be a prequel set in the year 2027, just as "human augmentation"--enhanced abilities through technological implants--is starting to enter wide use.

As for gameplay, developer Eidos Montreal has said it is attempting to "stay true to the original game," allowing players to choose their own approach to each level. Depending on the augmentations players choose, they can go through each part of the game with a focus on combat, stealth, hacking, or even social interactions.

Deus Ex, System Shock 2, Stalker: SoC & CoP (CS stinks), Half-Life... the list... goes on....
Will Deus Ex 3 be up to snuff with the best?

Deus Ex 1 is realistic, I love it. If the developers can take the core values of the game, question everything, multi-threaded story, augments and RPG elements and apply over the top action to them, more power to them. Heres to being able to run and gun like Crysis, or be ultra sneaky and fast hacker.

Augments for your style... Zelot leg enhancement incoming.

I have seen this trailer about five to seven times already and it never fails. I continue to feel "awe..." Such a brilliant composition of music and digital animation. The story seems so intriguing already. Goose bumps and emotional overload.. Holy crap his game is gonna EPIC. Haven't seen the game play yet, but I feel I may be surprised.

WOW! 1 sexy game we have here! see.. one of the main reasons why a game becomes GOOD! is because of its story! and the story in this seems sooo interesting!

The cinematography in these cutscenes is fantastic. I think it's great that games are starting to focus more on how cutscenes are presented, not just what's in them.

As much as I want it to be like the original, it sure as hell won't be. Mark my words, it's going to be Invisible war all over again.

With the coat, Adam looks like J.C., but with all that acrobatic killing i don't think it'll look like the original combat in Deus EX, but it might be great anyway : )

My best wishes to Eidos Montreal, I hope they will bring a great game

Is anyone else having trouble getting these E3 videos to load? It gets to about 80% and then stops loading for me on each video I try to watch.

Yeah i played the first One, on PS one back in the day. Didn't know there were others after it. The idea behind the game was tight, i thought. This one looks sweeeet as hell! Hope they release a DEMO for it.

It should be obvious that they should remake Deus Ex 1 after this comes out for the fans of this game and the older ones of the original (I am one of the original fans of the 1st, not so much IW).

Best Games trailer EVER!!!! Looking forward to this game, never heared of the series before thought. also looks like it could be a movie easy, seems like it has abit of Blade Runner mix with Terminator with alittle drop of Aliens (companies have the power, the flying police vehicles) in it. Looking forward to it.

I really am anticipating this release; it's such a incredible series; everything, the soundtrack, the atmosphere - and of course the story have always been ahead of their time.

My only resentment, is that [while not a bad thing] the series is going to get a lot of fans who have not played and most likely will not ever play the original or Invisible War - it will most likely be slightly more mainstream - and that always makes me slightly agitated.

If you had played the two previous games you would know that the Illuminati are central to the plots.

Wow, they showed the all seeing eye pyramid. Not only is the game badass, the trailer of cinematic quality, but they also have balls of steel to put in that little part about Illuminati. Very interesting....

    @j_kizi

The images here (http://www.incgamers.com/News/23112/new-deus-ex-human-revolution-images) would seem to suggest that it's 1st person with some 3rd person situations (maybe a little like R6 Vegas?), but those have not been confirmed legitimate.

Either way, they probably know that they stand to lose a few fans if they go full 3rd person.
