Save for those rare exceptions when publishers toss PlayStation 3 gamers a bone, multiplatform downloadable content largely arrives last on Sony's console. That will soon change. With Nintendo adding new content to its online store on Mondays and Microsoft squatting on Wednesdays, Sony has confirmed that it will begin updating the PlayStation Network on Tuesdays. The PSN's first Tuesday update will arrive on May 4.

Until then, Sony still has a couple more weeks of Thursday updates for the PSN. Leading this week's additions is the first episode of Sam & Max's latest outing, The Devil's Playhouse Episode 1: The Penal Zone. In Telltale's latest adventure game, Max mysteriously acquires mystical powers--ranging from future sight to teleportation--but is quickly set upon by the "intergalactic gorilla invader Skunk'ape." The five-episode pack can be purchased for $34.99.

Capcom's Final Fight: Double Impact bundle makes its way to the PSN this week as well. The $9.99 pack includes a tweaked version of the 1989 arcade original Final Fight, as well as the side-scrolling arcade action game Magic Sword. Both games in Final Fight: Double Impact include high-definition graphical filters as well as online and local co-op.

As for PlayStation Classics, Sony has added XS Junior League Dodgeball to its online store for $5.99. Released for Sony's original console in 2003, the dodgeball game sees players take to two sides to live out the classic playground sport.

On the PSP store, gamers can pick up Mimana Iyar Chronicle for $34.99. GungHo's portable Japanese role-playing game received poor reviews upon its initial outing on the PSP in March.

A full list of the week's deals and new PlayStation Store content, including themes, wallpapers, demos, discounts, and add-on content, is available on the official PlayStation Blog.
