The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package detonated with seismic force on Xbox Live upon its release for the Xbox 360 last week. Infinity Ward's first map pack for the $1 billion first-person shooter logged more than 1 million downloads within 24 hours of its release, and that figure ballooned to 2.5 million by week's end. Activision noted that the release set day-one and week-one Xbox Live records, despite the map pack's rocky launch.

Soon, Microsoft's Xbox 360 exclusivity on the map pack will expire, as Activision said today that the PlayStation 3 version of the Stimulus Package will be available in North America on May 4, with the Australian and European rollout taking place a day later. PC gamers the world over will be able to pick up the map pack on May 4, as well. Notably, a free multiplayer weekend for Modern Warfare 2 on the PC will be available through Steam beginning April 8.

Available for $15, the Stimulus Package includes three all-new maps: Bailout takes place in a vertically oriented apartment complex; Storm plays out amid hulking machinery in an industrial complex; and Salvage sees gamers picking their way through a snow-covered junkyard. The Stimulus Package also includes two popular holdovers from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare: Crash and Overgrown.
