Forza 3/Halo 3: ODST Xbox 360 Elite bundle confirmed

[UPDATE] Following Amazon listing, Microsoft officially announces Xbox 360 Elite spring 2010 hardware package with 120GB hard drive, two of 2009's biggest exclusive.

[UPDATE] On March 9, Microsoft officially announced the Halo 3: ODST/Forza bundle. GameStop will begin shipping it on Wednesday, March 17. The original Retail Radar story is below.

Gamers in the market for a new Xbox 360 system have a wealth of options on the way. Beyond the already available Xbox 360 Arcade and Xbox 360 Elite options, Microsoft has announced a pair of bundles that will see a 250GB version of the Xbox 360 Elite packed with a long-awaited game launch and two controllers. Next week, the Square Enix role-playing game Final Fantasy XIII will receive the Elite bundle treatment, while Ubisoft's stealth action game Splinter Cell: Conviction will get its own Elite bundle in early April.

Microsoft is apparently not over its bout of bundle fever just yet, as online retailer Amazon.com is listing a new spring 2010 Xbox 360 Elite configuration that will see the system packed in with two of its biggest exclusives from last year: Halo 3: ODST and Forza Motorsport 3. Judging from packaging art, the bundle will include a 120GB hard drive and a single controller. The product page suggests the package will arrive March 9, but Amazon has not started accepting preorders for it, nor is the retailer listing a price.

A Microsoft representative did not return GameSpot's request for confirmation and further details regarding the spring 2010 bundle. For more on the packed-in games, check out GameSpot's reviews of Halo 3: ODST and Forza Motorsport 3.

It's about time they released a good bundle. Since the Elite is targeted for mature gamers, I find it weird that they just now decided to put games like this in instead of Madagascar, LEGO Batman or any of those other crap games.

hey Microsoft stop putting Forza in the bundle, i got the Xbox 360 with Forza 2 and i hated it. if you want new gamers to buy a Xbox 360 don't put a serious racing sim in the console bundle put another good action game in next time.

so they realised no-one wants lego batman and pure.
forza's best racing game of this gen so far........odst, standalone expansion to the outdated halo 3.

@force_user1975 dont let microsoft know your thoughts! i can already see the reach 360! a downloadable version of halo and halo 2, halo 3 or odst AND reach?!!?! dear god. microsoft is really killing it with the bundles. sony only had one, the mgs4 ps3. they do well with handheld bundles, like the assassin's creed psp and the others, but microsoft is making them look like bona fide fools when it comes to sweetening the deal with home console deals

This is a killer bundle... seriously. If you wanted to get a taste of 2 of the better exclusives, this is a great wash and rinse buy for anyone on the fence. Props to Microsoft for not throwing Kung-Fu panda and "lego spoof X" in the box instead.

ugh, microsoft stop teasing us!!!!! now i have to ponder whether to trade in my xbox for either the ffxiii or splinter cell xbox, or go further and trade in my odst to get this one with a copy of odst and forza!!!! arrrgh! so many choices!

You still have your launch XBOX eyebrowless? That is insane. I have gone through like 10 of them. My launch one broke within a week. I now own 3 of them (I got 2 kids) Dunno if I will buy one of these bundles yet. Will wait on the price.

i just bought an elite after my old one died and i maneged to get the jasper xbox with the HD cables (HDMI,component and optical adapter) which i found really nice except the new model like this one which only come with normal cables ,the only advantage is the hard drive which i think is huge for a xbox the 120 GB HDD is more then enough for me .

I've been thinking about a 360 and this bundle might finally make me pull the trigger. I live in Canada and Future Shop currently has the Holiday 2009 bundle with three additional games for the same price as this Spring Value Bundle, but I really prefer the two games that come with the Spring Value Bundle over the five games they are offering with the Holiday 2009 Bundle. I have a v1 Xbox (Holiday 2004 Bundle) which is still going strong, but a 360 would be sweet. I'm just worried about the RROD and E74 errors, etc. I would have to make sure ventilation is good.

Awww man it isn't available on Amazon any more. Maybe they're gonna delay it or something. I guess I'll have to wait for this bundle or maybe I'll get the Splinter Cell bundle (which ever is released first). After I bought the winter bundle I realized how much Pure and Lego Batman sucked (good thing I heard about this bundle before it was too late), so I won't be getting that bundle again.

Would be an awesome bundle if they had another game besides ODST in there. Still ok, though. I'd buy it if I didn't own a 360 already.

Last time they did these bundles they were including pre-Jasper models. I hope these will be Jasper models. If not then these bundles are esentially worthless. A lot of people were dissapointed when they found out they had an inferior model in that Halo 3 / Fable 2 bundle.

In some ways I wish they integrate Jet Set Future with every 360 would be mind blowing. The greatest system bundle ever.

    @denu
    - you just delete the games once you beat them - im assuming you install them to quicken load times
    - for dlc just get goty editions, or when you get the achievements for them delete them, these things are rarely replayabe - as far as arcade games go, there are only a handful that are worth getting and they take up no where near the space

Your point of view. I have used up almost 100GB. Reason is, I download the games I play often and have all of their DLC in the HDD. You would be surprised how much memory 5-8 games can take up(Mass Effect 2 is times 2)

My 360 was the family fun bundle Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana jones. My DSi was somewhat of a bundle it came with the 10 dollar DSi ware, Future shop often has a "Get a free game if bought during this week!" so check there often. Bundles help when your right on the edge of buying.

An Xbox 360 with the Jasper chipset (so it has a better chance of NOT going RROD on me), a wireless adapter for Xbox Live, a year of Xbox Live Gold Membership, an HDMI cable, Capcom Platinum Hits Triple Pack (which includes Dead Rising, Lost Planet Colonies Edition, and Devil May Cry 4 all for like 40 bucks), Project Gotham Racing 4, Burnout Paradise, Halo 3, Final Fantasy 13, Street Fighter 4, AND Assassin's Creed all for 500 bucks. Thats a deal i gathered together and made myself from amazon.com. Pretty sweet deal too eh? If I didnt have this I'd definitely be getting this new bundle. Hell yeah what an awesome deal.

Both are pretty decent games, even if ODST was a bit underwhelming. You can jump into Halo 3 multiplayer, ODST firefight and Forza 3 races right out of the box, so this is a pretty win bundle.
