Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 teeing off in June, online open beta starts today

Tiger Woods may have taken an indefinite hiatus from golf in the wake of his extramarital affairs becoming public, but the superstar athlete won't be dropping out of the public eye entirely. EA Sports today officially announced Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 and launched the open beta testing of its PC counterpart, Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online.

Beyond confirming that PGA Tour 11 will once again feature Woods prominently, EA revealed few details. The game launches in June and will apparently be skipping the PSP and PlayStation 2 this year, as EA confirmed versions only for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii, and iPhone.

Developed by EA Tiburon, Tiger Woods PGA Tour Online will feature an initial assortment of six courses, with the developer hoping to add an extra one every month, in addition to other upgrades and features.

The beta allows users access to all 18 holes on each of the first six courses and also includes features like sponsorships, character progression, and Facebook integration. When the browser-based game is officially launched later this year, it will use a subscription-based business model with multiple tiers to suit different players.

    I'm excited for the new mini games in this one since I always enjoy a good challenge. Juggling 10+ girlfriends while keeping it secret from your wife and practicing bad PR. AAA for sure!

    Wow people are pathetic if i was tiger i would be laughing my ass off at you counting my money driving my ferrari's. He is not the only person in the sporting planet to cheat on his wife. Hell a lot worse has been done.....Mark Mcguire taking steroids and breaking a home run record?

    Tiger woods games have been about the same evrey year i wish they bring back the old putting system....you know 7 ft up 3 ft left....

    tiger is definitely not near the best true "athlete" in the world so when he gets those type of awards it's annoying, but golf is obviously a legit sport and he is the best golfer ever (or will end up there if you don't agree now), and quite possibly the most dominant in his respective sport in the modern era. Glad that EA isn't sucking up to the Moral Minority of America and is sticking with him. Some people just have to pry into and slander other peoples' personal lives in order to feel good about themselves, but those types will figure out karma someday.

    Tiger woods just needs to go away. I'm tired of him getting athlete of the year awards golf isn't even a sport! I'm also tired of watching espn and seeing them show golf all the time! I'm glad he took a leave of absence because they don't talk about golf anymore!

    @Shardz7 because they are lying. They have like 5 sports games a year that thousands of people by they have Bioshock and these guys have been around for a long time. There is no reason for not having any money.

    I've been curious about whether it would still be called Tiger woods golf. I just hope they improve the game because for a while it seemed that they were just rehashing the old game just adding a new year to the title.

    Just ask Bill Clinton! The mini games in this version are the best! Yet another EA title to cram down our throats! Why doesn't EA bring back Madden to the PC if they are pissing and crying about money so bad? I think that whole company is smoking crack in the back alley before those big power meetings.

    Great move EA, remember that any publicity is good publicity. I bet my hat PGA Tour 11 will sell much more than PGA Tour 10

    Hopefully they'll include more PGA courses with the game, it would improve the career mode to have more courses. It's enough that I pay full price for this game every year, I'm tired of EA holding back a bunch of courses expecting me to pay extra to download them.

    All I know is that if I had that kind of money, I'd have probably done the same thing. A lot of hot women will do a lot of things to a guy who has close to a billion dollars.

    Also who ever said he was a role model? Real role models are real people that do good things. Most actors, athletes, and musicians aren't good role models... sorry to break it to you. They didn't get where they were by being good people. They we're either really lucky, talented or attractive (or some combination of the three)

    Most actors, athletes, and musicians I admire are good at what they do, but I wouldn't trust them alone in a room with my wife or kids

    God these anti-EA and Tiger Woods comments are making me laugh so much. Yes what he did was wrong there is no denying that. Of course EA is going to keep the Woods title on their games. What golfer has accomplished as much as Wood as? Heck they are a lot of athlete that hasn't accomplished as much as Woods. I didn't respect him for his good boy image he use to have. I HAVE respect for him fo what he's done as a athlete. People need stop acting like he killed someone hell there are other athletes that have done far worse (anybody remember Ojay Simpson?)

    When it comes to golf Tiger is the best in the world and maybe the best ever. He has a golf game because he is the biggest name in golf.

    With regard to what he did off the course is nobodies business but his and his family. He isn't a religious leader or marriage specialist. I love how people jump and critize someone else when they have done the same thing. We do not punish non-celebraties for cheating. I have never seen a person at work booted for simply cheating.

    He is an imperfect person like everyone else. I don't see why people try to base morality off of him because he is a great golfer. There is just too much hypocricy in the world.

    I got bored of the jokes pretty fast. I mean seriously what would you do with all the money in the world? Have sex with one woman? Pshaw. I'm sure even the women on this earth would find a couple of girls to sleep with also. Tiger 11 should be an alright play, even though that means I can pick up 10 for 10 bucks or so. Oh and lets not forget we live in America you naive moral preachers. If you don't like it, you can jus' git' out!

    Great Golfer, Lots of money, Free cars, Lots of girls, what the h^7%4 wrong with that ? Hell there are many men in this world who will blow themselves up just for enticement of the girls alone. He's not a sex-addict he's just normal guy with a great putter and not shy to use it.

    Tiger's only crime was a crime of passion! but seriously, if he wasnt married, this wouldnt be a big deal. Tiger Woods is only human. should he maybe have toned it down since he's married and one of the most famous athletes in the world? yea, he was kinda dumb in that respect. but i find no fault with the man, and will continue to play his games and watch him play. i mean admit it. he's the best!
