Unlike the cricket world, in which Australia almost always trumps the Brits, the world of football is rarely predictable. Who, for instance, would've picked Greece to win Euro 2004, or England to fail to qualify for Euro 2008?

Thankfully we have a secret weapon in our tournament predictions: UEFA Euro 2008's simulation mode on the Xbox 360. Now that the group stages have been tossed by the wayside, along with the undeserving teams, we can get down to finals business.

Turkey, Croatia, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Russia now remain after Germany's 3-2 defeat of Portugal last night at Basel. Despite goals from Gomes and Postiga, it wasn't enough to stop Schweinsteiger, Klose, and Ballack from reaching the back of the net, taking Germany through to the semis.

    I wish italy one today, but my keen forsight predicts Spain vs. Germany, in which Spain will win. hmm... ya that is it.

    Turkey!! You'll see Germany will be winning 3-0 then Turkey will score three goals in the last three minutes, and then win on penalties

    great to see all this correct predictions...umm
    I wish rather than a prediction here. I hope Russia or whoever plays them in the semis ends up winning it as Germany is not only a bit boring and muscular but they are also bloody lucky with Turkey missing 3 players in the semis, especially Nihat (if it's confirmed).

    Holland got kicked out by Russia, I hope that Italy will win against spain tonight.

    I will agree with Germany / Holland final, however I think the Netherlands can pull through and beat Germany.
