What we heard: If prerelease hype is anything to go on, then Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed is looking like a good bet to rule sales charts when it's released in 2007. The stealthy game has been drooled over since its showing at this year's E3, and fans aren't even sure what platforms it will be on.

The game has been confirmed as a PlayStation 3 game, but was announced as Project Assassin at the Xbox-centric X05 last year. Ubisoft has repeatedly said that the game is coming to the PS3 and no other announcements have been made, but others claimed that the game was running on a 360 dev kit at E3.

Further doubt of PS3 exclusivity was thrown into the mix this week when Web sites began reporting that Ubisoft confirmed at the Interactive Digital Entertainment Festival last week that the game would be coming to the Xbox 360 and PC. Which Web sites? It's not quite clear yet, though the rumor appears to have spawned on European-based Web sites.

For those of you who predicted that Ubisoft would deny any other platforms for Assassin's Creed, pat yourself on the back. A rep told GameSpot News: "Assassin’s Creed is coming to the PS3. No other announcements have been made."

As stated before, all signs point toward Assassin's Creed heading to other platforms. Officially, however, the game is a PS3 title.

Bogus or not bogus?: We've been through this before, and we're sticking with bogus that it's a PS3 exclusive. We would be shocked to find this not end up on the Xbox 360 or PC.

    360 is doing well, Sony fan boy are noting but hater, xbox360 will win this gen.Sony fan boy who ever say 360 suck or 360 cant handle this type of game. You guys dont known jack!!!!!!!...Look at 360 games like Gears of War, Halo3,UT2007(also on ps3,and pc) Mass Effect,Oh and, Bio Shock is the best looking game best looking graphic at E3 2006.Fan boy need to shut their mouth I mean really This gen all about gameplay not graphic.

    I'd love to see it come to the 360. Only because I'm not shelling out over $500 for a freakin' console and Jebus knows how much Sony is going to rape the consumer when it comes to game prices.

    The again, I don't know if I'll have enough time to play it along side of Twilight Princess, Dead Rising, and Oblivion.

    Assassins Creed are made by Ubisoft Montreal.....All the Prince Of Persia games started on the pc...no pop-titel have not come to the pc....sooo Assassins Creed shoud come to the Pc platform.....I hope so.....im gonna by it anyway...even if it comes to PS3..im gonna by it=)=)=).......VIVA LA PC=)

    this game is only for playstation 3 because ubi soft don't have any plan to release it on xbox360. but it probably ran on xbox360 during the E3 2006. (knowbody know the truth...also i don't know neither...)

    It's Coming out for the Xbox 360 they said it on Gamekings and they asked some producer at the E3 06, And i sure hope it does because Xbox 360 is the best so is assasin's creed i don't wanna buy a 600$ PS3!

    Well, honestly, I wasn't expecting a game that looks this awesome to be confined to a single platform. However, if it does happen to be exclusive, then it and MGS4 alone are enough to convince me to buy the PS3.

    Who knows? We'll just have to wait and see...

    Wath...after all this exclusivity talk about it going to PS3 watch Ubisoft announce it as an XB360 exclusive...lol jk. I'm with alot of the others here. This si the only game that makes me want to buy a PS3. The reason I don't want to buy a PS3 is like alot of others here said (don't care to go through 5 pages to find all the people that said it). It's the price. its pretty high and considering the XB360 is nearley $200 cheaper is reason enough for me to side with MS. But if it comes out as an exclusive to PS3 then I will buy a PS3. Anyway thats my 2 cents. Carry on. lol

    if Assassin's Creed come to the 360 i won't get a PS3 for ages!!!!!
    This is the only game that temps me to buy a PS3 so for Assassin's Creed to come to the 360 will stop me from buying the PS3 for quite a while.

    Ha! No matter how overpriced it is, they'll sell every unit they ship. Launch-date console shortages have been going on since the SNES era, and will continue long after everyone here has died.

    It'll be on the 360 same day. Sony bought a little Marketing time from Ubisoft. That will run out closer to the release of the game.

    I hope it comes to 360 and PC--I can't afford a PS3 and don't wanna wait abut 6-7 years for the price to drop reasonably to play this game

    it wont come to pc any time soon--gaming on pc is going down and down and more people are switching to consoles----
    resident evil 4 was exclusive to the gamecube--the sales for it wasnt what capcom had hoped so it was released for the ps2---metal gear solid 4 far as i know--is sony ps3 only--as the other gear games have been only on the ps2and then theres the rehashes that was on the gamecube-which flopped--
    so companies like konamiwill more than likely keep the gear series on the ps2 and ps3--if assassins creed was being made with the xbox360 dev kit-then at the xbox360 e3 showing why didnt they show it---they showed it on sonys e3 and sonys only---
    so what if it comes to ps3 and the 360--prince of persia series was and legacy of kain was also---
    so quit worrying about whether its a 360 exclusive or a ps2 exclusive--all i know ps3 has my money--then for games ps3 dont get--i will buy them for the 360--yes i got a 360 but its a dust collector as we speak

    I don't know it if means anything; it could be a slip up, or it could be a genuine clue; but Play.com is now listing Assassin's Creed on all 3 platforms with the same release date (2 Mar 07).

    Do you think Sony might be trying to work out a deal with Ubisoft for it to be a PS3 exclusive? I mean, sales would definatley go up for the PS3, so sony could take that into account and try to buy out Ubisoft into making it an exclusive. I'm not saying this would happen ( I doubt it would, lol) but I think it would be great on any system. I'm a microsoft fan, but from what I hear about the PS3, I wouldnt mind buying that at all. I see where yall are coming from, I agree that it could happen either way, but I hope it comes out on multiplatforms.

    im not so sure the ps3 is more powerful than the 360 the diference of pricing its about blue ray layer the rest of hardware seem equivalent maybe less raw performance for the 360 but a more friendly user console for game developer mean less cost lower time developing and a wider user base due to the record time they build the 360 .sony have great potential because everyone who get a psone buy a ps2 i love my ps2 she gave me alot to play about and now a have a 360 and i love it to but if sony dont offer me realy beter grafix or console selling exclusivity like ac i give up because i dont intend of buying a hd tv now and if i get the ps3 low price model i never get hd with it after and that make me feel bad about sony and by the way if sony intend of stoping piracy with blueray they will failed with the scenario of the recent movies i have seen the piracy will stop by himself why because they suck "-
    -umm....how can u insult graphics if you can't even spell it right...PS3 iz a blu-ray player which is alone enough to beat the 360...the PS3 also haz more raw performance than the 360. the total system performance is 2.18 terraflops!!!! I don't see any possible way u can insult that after u hear that number...itz a super computer-double the speed of the 360

    I think many of you fail to realize why games come out for only one console. First of all, none of these corporations will get rich off of the consoles themselves--selling at a loss, actually. However, if you have nice little exclusives for the consoles, then people wanting to play the game would have to BUY the console. If every console could play every game then a monopoly would occur in the marketplace. So, when these corporations get more and more money from exclusives, they make up the losses from the console sales and encourage them to push more and more money into R&D or whatever for games. Having exclusives like this don't discourage competition or ruin the market...they actually make the market healthier.

    I'm not really that bothered as I'm planning to get a PS3 anyway, but it'd suck for all the Xboxer's to miss out. Should give the Wii a miss though.

    This is definately coming to both PC and Xbox360. It would be stupid not to bring it either, considering the similarity between the two. Both basically use DX10 and with a bit of tweaking, you've got yourself an x86 or x64 compatible game instead of an IBM PowerPC core game. One has an ATI card and another has a 50% of having one. Simple enough.

    It's definitely coming to the 360 as well. The new Official XBox 360 Magazine has a big review of the game on the 360...

    Its odd ive been around Gamespot since early PS2 maybe PS1. A long time. I dont see this as a big deal. A third rate B game going to two companies. Not like it is leaving anyone in the dust or anything. Yet now Gamespot wants to make it a big deal, as if it means anything. Or has anything to do with the real war between Sony and Microsoft. One side must be getting desperate.

    To gian what one already has is not a win or anything. Its just playing folow the leader. For Microsoft thats nothing new. They follow Sony all the time. But we should be used to that by now. What ever y they make Microsoft will borrow. Simple really. You dont borrow from the worst, you borrow from the best if you want to have a chance. And to do what Sony does is always a good move.

    If it was a PS3 exclusive Ubisoft would say it was a PS3 exclusive. There is no such mention that it would not come to anything else and furthermore, both the PC and the 360 can run this game regardless of what someone says who has no knowledge of a developers capabilities on both systems. Calm down fanboys calm down.

    The videos that are shown, are they in-game or cut scenes or a mix of both? I can't tell from the videos shown that we're actually watching gameplay or just cut-scenes interspersed with gameplay...anybody know for sure? Thanks.
