If bad films were crimes, Uwe Boll would be public enemy #1. The filmmaker has outraged critics, gamers, and paying moviegoers with his string of horrendously reviewed and low-grossing game adaptations. Among his "credits" are BloodRayne and the forthcoming Postal, which tastefully spoofs the 9/11 attacks.

Now, Boll has announced his intention to offend again. According to film news site Screendaily, Boll is readying a sequel for Alone in the Dark. Based on the classic horror-survival game, which Atari is remaking for next-gen consoles, the 2004 film bears a subterranean average rating of 9 out of 100 on Metacritic. The sequel, tentatively titled Alone in the Dark 2, will have a bare-bones budget of $7.5 million, and will begin shooting in the summer in New York City.

He does not always receive a low budget? Where did all that money go to, bribing the actors to actually participate in the film?

7.5 million? Well, we can forget about any decent special effects with that kind of budget, or any good acting too. Not that the first film did.

Hey some of his movies have good points, Kristanna Loken was the star of Bloodrayne and I was satisfied watching her in that movie(I'll watch anything with Kristanna in it). Hopefully Tara Reid will be in this sequal and I can be satisfied again. I hope that thumbs up means a yes.

You know...I'd rather watch a Uwe Boll film than hear Jack Thompson freaking out about videogames and how they are a detriment to society. Besides...just call a few of your buddies over and you'll be cracking up! Uwe Boll's films are hilarious...not that they are supposed to be at all. They're just great b-movies. You know he's already finished Dungeon Siege, Seed, Postal, and Bloodrayne II. Isn't it odd how they've been finished for a while but no one seems to want to distiribute them? Haha, maybe people got some common sense. Regardless, his movies are friggin hilariously bad though.

Apparently he funds his own films. So as long as he has money, we will continue to see the worst movies known to man released. And you all thought the Super Mario Brothers movie was bad...

I'm guessing whoever Boll managed to persuade to stump up the cash for this movie hasn't seen the original. It has to be the most god awful piece of garbage ever to be put onto film.

There are people who are conciously giving this man the rights to produce these films. This, in turn, ruins the potential for a particular license to ever have a decent movie made for it (Far Cry, for example). The people responsible for making the decision to give Uwe Boll the rights to these licenses should be found out, publicly shamed, and fired from their jobs.

I'm surprised Uwe Boll isn't the one directing The Sims movie. He'd sure be one to think of making a movie out of something like a life simulation. But whatever. As long as he doesn't touch Half-Life, I'm good. If he does end up getting film rights to Half-Life, well, let's just say there will be hell to pay.

I have friends that are directors and writers that haven't even had a 100k budget for their films. This wasted money should be given to the indy directors so they can have their chance at making something original and not as disgusting as another Uwe Boll film.

hey, if you have a problem with Uwe Boll movies (which all happen to be really crappy) then don't complain. You're not obligated to watch them. Just let him waste all his money on his hobby, why would you complain and hate so much? It's not like hes strapping you to a chair with your eyelids being held open forcing you to watch his movies. You have free will to watch or not watch any of his movies. I personally am looking forward to his take on the postal video games....

WTF?!??! O.O This *HAS* gotta be a f**in joke!!!! O.O Just found this is the discussions page for the Wikipedia article on Uwe Boll......

    "9 "Doctorate in Literature"?

Forgive my bias, but I find it a little hard to believe someone as fundamentally inept at communicating a story as Uwe is has a doctorate in literature. Could we possibly get a source for this claim? -- Grandpafootsoldier 10:37, 14 April 2007 (UTC) I don't find that the least bit unbelievable. He's studied at two universaties and he's written two books. Mind you that though he's educated in literature it does not affect anything he does in the film industry. -TheHande 21:55, 27 April 2007 (UTC) Even still, a source would be appreciated. -- Grandpafootsoldier 08:47, 2 May 2007 (UTC)"

There is NO tasteful way to "spoof" one of the world's major tragedies.... Boll, if you actually are reading these comments, please take a hint and STOP F**KING UP OUR GAMES!!!!!!! Uwe Boll should never make another movie as long he lives. I am extremely offended by his adaptation of Bloodrayne....it makes me sick. I Iove that game and he just is going to ruin his second film too. When the hell does Bloodrayne go wildwest....compete whackness.
